A few months back I say a posting about the Williamsburg , VA area and using DVC points. Not sure if this was through the concierge collection or not.

If anyone has any information about this - please send it this way.

I didn't see anything listed under the concierge collection for that area

Thanks
Don

It was probably the Marriott's Manor Club at Ford Colony - a beautiful resort - it is though II (world passport) not the concierge.

you MUST have a car to stay at this resort and still see everything that Williamsburg has to offer.

Just wanted to say that the Marriott property is gorgous! We've stayed there before and love it!!!

I third the Manor Club! We stayed over July fourth last year and loved it. We (DH and I) and 2 14 year-old boys had a wonderful time. We were in a one bedroom at the Sequel and we had a full dining room and fireplace in living room. Pool was nice and the boys played tennis almost every night and enjoyed video game tournament and renting movies. The staff was great and they have a concierge to help booking tours and meals. We visited Busch Gargens, Colonial williamsbug, Jamestown, and Yorktown and ate at many nice restaurants, but cooked breakfast each morning and had lunches at resort by pool(Pizza hut and sandwiches) or in room. Marriott Manor Club is on a beutiful golf course. We would return in a heart-beat. We have been dvc members since 1994 and this was the first non-dvc trade we have donw.

We stayed at Kings Creek Plantation in May 2004, and it was very nice. We got it through skyauction.com actually, and when I got the new Member book, I saw it listed there. I was quite pleased to see it, because we would like to go back there.

It's right next door to Water Country, and it was about 5 minutes to Busch Gardens, 10 minutes to dining, shopping, etc.

Just realize that Williamsburg is an easy trade and fairly cheap rental. Think of it like Branson and Orlando outside DVC, meaning overbuilt. It's not likely to be worth giving up the points to stay there through a DVC II trade. Look for a private trade or a direct rental then rent out your points.

Just back from a trade to Marriott Fords Colony. It is very nice and in a very beautiful area. We drove from Memphis and the drive is as beautiful, too. I think it is worth the trade if you bought the points to have both options. We trade about 1 time a year and go to WDW the other. There is a lot of history in Williamburg and golf, lots of golf. I would only plan my next trip there in the summer. The Marriott had most pools closed and there isn't much to do unless you golf. It was very quiet. I don't know if we will trade there again, but it was nice to see the area.

We were in Williamsburg last June, at our other T/S, and loved it! Go when Busch Gardens is open, it is a gorgeous park. We also enjoyed the history. Don't miss Jamestown and Yorktown, just as neat as Colonial Williamsburg to us. Water Country USA is a pretty nice water park (top 10 on the travel channell!) We may go back for a few days next spring, we bought the year's pass at CW!!! A great vacation for our family, and we do not golf.
