Thinking about using points for a stay in Williamsburg. Looks like II has 4 options there - Kings Creeks looks appealing. Anyone know anything about any of these resorts. Recommendations?

Oh, rocketriter just wrote that he/she visited Williamsburg on points in a post on the DVC misc. board...maybe you could follow up on that. Good luck!

We have stayed at Marriott's Ford's Colony and King Creek Plantation. We preferred Ford's Colony. The one bedroom cottage at King's Creek is very small and member services did tell us that before we booked. The Manor Club at Ford's Colony has 3 attached golf courses that you can walk to, and we liked the accomodations better. King's Creek is right next to Water Country. What I liked about that location was you could easily get on the Colonial Parkway from there and take a nice ride into Colonial Williamsburg's Visitor Center without any traffic or lights.
You can send me a pm if you want to discuss further. Matt

We stayed at the Williamsburg Plantation about 5 years ago while it was still under construction. The 2 bedroom villa was huge and beautiful. Highly recommended,

We are headed to Kings Creek on at the end of June. It is good to hear the nice reviews.

we stayed at Kings Creek in April and had a great trip. Stayed in the 2 bedroom. Very, very roomy. great location, nice pools, the gym is small but it worked out fine. Gas grills located through out the grounds. Williamsburg is our second favorite vacation destination. We've also stayed at Powhatan Plantation which has gotten run down over the years. Also at a Fairfield, can't remember which one.

Yes, we stayed at Ford's Colony Marriott last year and liked it. The accomodations were spacious and elegant (although we were given a room with a poor view). The resort was a 10-minute drive from Colonial Williamsburg (plus another 5 minutes to navigate Ford's Colony, which is huge and includes much more than the Marriott). By the way, we bought annual passes to Colonial Williamsburg even though we only stayed 7 nights. It was well worth it. We were able to come and go as we pleased all week, and cheaply book many evening events (the "trials" are particularly worth seeing). By the way, we travelled in August and the temperature was approximately 1,000 degrees.

We've stayed at Marriott Ford Colony as well. Here are the pictures of the resort if you'd like to see them:

There are two sides at Marriott. One is called the club which only has 2 bedrooms. The other side is called the sequel which has lockouts. We stayed on the club side so I can't comment on the sequel. Our unit was beautiful and spacious. We loved the area since we really don't have things like this on the West coast...

Great pictures - thanks for sharing! I'm thinking this is looking like a good use of our points.

I noticed your screen name with your pictures. We have a dog named Gizmo - are Cisco & Gizmo your pets?

Yes, Gizmo was our cat. And Cisco was our dog. Sadly both pets have passed away.
