And Dawn, I'm glad to see that you agree that the grounds for Clinton's impeachment were completely absurd as well.

After all, if Libby didn't perjure himself because no crime was committed other than lying under oath then Clinton didn't perjure himself because no crime was committed other than lying under oath, right?

You can't be that oblique when talking to Dawn, LuvDuke, otherwise she'll miss your point.

You have to spell out just how many Republicans couldn't dare allow Jefferson's office to be searched because the same precedent would be used against them.

I just can't believe he got re-elected...how did this happen? I am just stunned. When I read the news online early this morning, I nearly spewed my cereal all over my monitor. I think I had a small aneurism because I had a bad migraine for three hours after reading it. DH said he thought WDW had blown up or something I was so upset.

I just hope the FBI gets him out of office soon...

I am not surprised he was reelected. I mean Nagin and all his whacko ideas and comments got reelected. Nothing will ever change in NOLA or Louisiana. I am glad I had the means and the ability to move out last year. I just hope my parents and brother will have the same opportunities I did.

Not all of LA would have voted for either Nagin or Jefferson. I just don't understand the folks in the southern part of my state.

Is LA trying to compete with us here in NJ for re-electing corrupt politicians? I feel for you, I know your pain. We have the highest property taxes in the nation, there's a new story every day about kick backs and sweetheart deals, and yet people keep re-electing the same people over and over. And then have the nerve to wonder why things don't improve here!

I completely agree but I am from BR originally and see the NOLA attitude moving up I-10 to BR. So frustrating.

First of all, to my local friends: I said " I wouldn't participate in any more political issues on the DIS"! BUT.....

I feel I have to on this election.

I am very sorry, I voted for Bill Jefferson!!!!

I knooowwww, I can't believe it myself!!! Not in a billion years, would I ever have thought I would have made that statement!!

I must explain myself! I felt my choice was based on WORSE OR WORSER!!!! ( Yes, I know my English is not correct, but hey! I'm from Nawlins!!!)

To me, my decision was not based on: as we say here in Nawlin's "Dollar Bill Jefferson's record"!.. Personally, I feel & hope he will face his day in court & get kicked out of Congress!!! So, why would I vote for him??

I believe, that Bill Jefferson is not a honest politician! I honestly do not feel that any politician that has been in office awhile, can be an upright citizen!!

However, my choice was a veteran politician with lots of friends in Congress or a newbie who has shown that she has no basis but to rehash what Jefferson has done wrong!

Karen Carter did not have any campaign base, other than Jefferson was a crook! Well, propably so! But what did she stand for! I couldn't find anything but her discourse against Jefferson. So, while I do not agree with practically anything he says or stands for, I feel that he has been in Congress for a very long time. If he is removed, we will have another election!!! That would be great!!! If he is not indicted on any of these charges (as he as not yet been indicted), his friends in Congress will probably go back to business as usual!!
