about Canon's. I'd like to know the pros cons about the Rebels - I know there are different price points - but haven't looked much further. I am pretty much only gonna be taking pics of the kiddos & some sports - not much else

I'm dreaming of one of these cameras right now - I may have to settle for another point & shoot for a while longer - but just in case I thought I'd have my info ready (since mother's day & our anniversary are this month! )

Try dpreview.com...they've got reviews, feature summaries, comparison grids, etc. Pretty good source overall, plus there are attached forums where owners and enthusiasts discuss their cameras good and bad sides.

Just out of curiosity...why are you only shopping one brand? Might be worth looking at all of the fine DSLRs available out there, as you may find a different brand to be more comfortable or intuitive for you, or might find a better price. Nothing at all wrong with Canon...I just generally encourage anyone to try cameras out, because not everyone's built the same. What may be comfortable to hold for one person may be tremendously uncomfortable for another. Grip shape, button layout, weight, size, LCD, viewfinder size...lots of different things go into the design and cameras are never exactly alike.

I've sold on Canon 'cause I've had a couple & love them - my folks tired Kodak & hated it - so I figure I'll stick to what I know - & let someone else go try out another brand for me & then tell me all about it & then I'll try another one - LOL

And canon makes so many styles of cameras that I've always found one that fits my hand - just can't decide what level of camera I want this time....

Gotcha. No problem - I was just wondering. You certainly can't go wrong image-wise from a Canon DSLR.
