Will You Open/Post on a Thread

I only consider the subject matter, not the person.

I usually hover over the subject to see if the matter is worth reading, if not I move on.

Those that I REALLY don't want to read i can't see anyway... :confused3

I don't dislike anyone on the Disboards and I haven't been around here all that long. I've learned so much here and really enjoy reading it. Usually.

That being said there are types of threads I don't care to read. There are also maybe 3 posters that I choose to stay away from, now that I recognize when they start a post.

I open anything that interests me - and I always try to remember to give some sort of a response to a thread that has had no responses at all.. For some reason it just really bothers me when someone has asked a question or wants to chat about something (unless of course it's intentional pot stirring or baiting) and not one single person responds.. :confused3

I agree with the majority, I will post on anything that seems interesting or fun but I don't avoid certain people. There are a few people that when they make a new thread I think "here we go..." and it gets kind of old but I don't make a point not to add to it

I just never thought about responding or not responding to a post based on who initiated the thread:confused3 If the topic is something that interests me, I'll read it and if I have a comment, I'll make it.

Like, if I see a thread that has an interesting topic, then I look to see who started it and it's "xyz", and I say "oh, I don't like xyz" so I'm not going to open it, I do think that is childish.

To each his own, I guess. To me it seems logical.

I can't think of anything that would be so interesting to talk about that I wanted to hear what a gasbag or certified whackadoodle had to say about it.

I just don't get that. I've had disagreements with a few, but most of the time don't even remember who it was. And even if I did remember I still wouldn't refuse to open a thread they started simply because of who they were. Seems to me that is pretty childish behavior. :confused3

I agree.

I try really really hard to not remember posters, especially on the CB. Just b/c I don't agree about xyz doesn't mean their thoughts on abc won't be absolutely amazing!

Exactly..:thumbsup2

Yes, I do. I can't think of a single poster I don't like. I mostly reply to the topic at hand.

I don't pay attention to who starts the thread most of the time. As someone mentioned above I'll hover and if it doesn't seem interesting I move on. There are a couple people that just go over the top every.single.time and I'll actually stop reading a thread once these particular people take it down hill. I'm just not going to engage with someone who purposely-:stir:-especially if that's their sole reason for responding to the thread. (which usually it is) Now if I've been active in a discussion and these people come along then I just skip right over their posts.
