Will you now buy an extra ticket or go elsewhere?

Just curious what other out of state visitors are thinking about the new 5 day tickets? Every year when we plan our CA trip we always start out talking about going to Universal Studios and or Knotts Berry Farm but in the end it's always been more budget friendly to buy more days at DL. Now with the 5 day tix we will have two days to spare, I can't imagine buying a 2 nd ticket at full price! I guess we will FINALLY go to the other parks! What bout others? 2nd ticket or do something else?

I think we did the best thing this year. We have our 5-day park hopper. For our 6th day, we are just using our Halloween Party tickets. We have to buy them at full price anyway, right? So our 6th day starts at 4pm and we'll spend the first part of the day sleeping in and relaxing by the pool. That way we'll be able to make the most of the night hours before returning home the next day. We're staying at GC so we're happy with the way things worked out.

For our trip this December if we're still unable to buy a 6 day ticket or tack on a day at the gate we're going to go check out some museums in LA on our extra day. No way, no how will I buy another ticket on top of a 5 day.

I really think its a great idea to check out whats offered around DL, it however makes it harder for those coming from further away that want more then 5 days. But that is something none of us can change now,

Unfortunately, we'll go elsewhere. :worried:
We'll check out the beach, maybe the San Diego Zoo, etc. I really wish we could add days to DL.

Our plan is to look into other vacation options completely. We tried a 5 day trip once, before we had our son, and we agreed that it wasn't long enough. We find 8 days just about perfect. Annual passes are hard to justify too, since with our DVC points, its hard to squeeze in 2 trips in a 12 month period, not to mention airfare from across the country. It makes me so sad to type this. :(
I really hope they change their minds on this issue soon.

We just buy APs. Easiest and guarantees a followup trip. Then again, my brother lives in San Diego and we visit him, so we tend to go to CA anyway.

Now the real question is...can we afford the APs now? Especially given our new-ish-found love for Universal Florida, the relative cheapness of their APs (which we also have), and the fact that I can get a flight from SEA to MCO for the same miles as I can get a flight to LAX!

This year if we are unable to add a day we will use our 5 day park hoppers plus our Halloween party tickets that allow us to enter DL at 3 on that day (take the morning off) but that will be it. We will take in other activities in the area during our other 2 days.

Definitely, we will have to look at other options, as it is too expensive for us to add on any additional days in Disneyland to a 5 day park hopper.

I don't think this issue is one that will go away very easily for Disney. Too many guests are extremely dissatisfied at this new turn of events.

I was really hoping to add a day next month since a lot of rides will be down for the halloween installations :worried:, I guess I will take a day off. No way will I buy an AP its my first time and maybe last time at Disneyland, we will stick with Walt Disney World.

That's the question I keep wrestling with! We are going in July for a special graduation trip and our original plan was to stay Sunday to Sunday and get a 7 day park hopper. We are going to stay at DLH for the first time and thought it would be great to have a few days where we hit the parks early and then lounge by the pool or take in a movie in the afternoon. Then back to the park in the evening if we feel so inclined. I was really hoping for that type of a trip. Now we're thinking Sunday thru Friday or Saturday and not hitting the park on Sunday but waiting until Monday; which feel so wrong! But so does shelling out money for 2 1 day PH that would just be for half a day. So I don't know what to do. We really don't want to leave the resort area this time around either. All Disney. All the time is my daugher's request for this trip.

My head spins! :headache:

I was hoping to add a day to our November trip. We happened to order our 7 day PH from Airmiles Canada in time, though we were really hoping to see Mainstreet the evening of our arrival, and on our extra day. Traveling from the Vancouver area, we prefer to stretch our stay to justify the airfare and hotel cost. As extra days are now full price, we will likely just stick around DTD and the hotel pool on our extra 2.5 days.

Next year we'll either have to buy a 3+5 day PH, cut our stay to 5 days, or make the trek to WDW (airfare is way more than double). The new limits are frustrating for out of town Disney fans, where an annual pass is impractical. I suspect Disney will figure it out by next year, and I'll talk to a CM in person at Town Hall and DLH to make sure we're heard.

We'll absolutely be going elsewhere. I can handle Universal about once a decade so we could do that, my husband has always wanted to check out Knotts but it hasn't worked for a variety of reasons and he is now bitter about it lol, and the San Diego Zoo is amazing. There is so much to do in Southern California we won't have a problem finding something else to do.

We willbe in Anaheim sept 8-19th. Initially we wanted to spend 7 days between the two parks, however with the ticket fiasco that won't happen! So we have now added sea world, universal, legoland, legoland water park, and universal into the mix. And a beach/shopping day! From Canada and WILL NOT buy an annual pass or add 2 days for the huge sum they are requesting! Oh well, spread the wealth I guess?

I will go one day to the Universal Studios. It would cost the same than adding a day in Disneyland and it has a lot of rides I liked a lot (above all Transformers, that's wonderful, one of the best attractions in the world).

We are looking at other vacation options (ie Hawaii)
Like others, we want to do 7 park days to really make the flight worth it...

I'm going to be honest...for our family 4 days was plenty of time in the parks. However, this was before Cars Land opened, and since I only have a boy we skip a lot of princess related things. We spent 8 days and did 4 days in the parks then did a whirlwind SoCal tour. San Diego is beautiful, especially Coronado Island beaches, the zoo and Wild Animal Park (or whatever its called now) were great. We loved doing the tourist-y stuff in Hollywood too..Kodak theater tour, Hollywood Hills tour, movie at the El Capitan. There are so many other things to do.

We are Cedar Fair passholders, so we usually hit up Knott's at least once during our week. In past years, we might duck back into Disneyland if it is open late enough after a day at KBF, but now we won't.

You might also check out the Ronald Reagan museum and see if they are still hosting the Disney display.http://www.reaganfoundation.org/

We have not been there yest but know others that have and they say it is wonderful.. and personally, after my kids annual passes are up this year.. we are done with Disney. I can not afford the prices anymore....

There are so many things to do in Southern California... Disney might be finding that they cut off their nose to spite their face as my Mom use to say...

We are staying for 8 nights/7days in Dec 2013. Normally I would not buy an AP but since I am also coming in Oct the following year and the AP will still be good and it cuts my costs for the two trips, I will be buying an AP. Otherwise, I would only being staying 6 nights/5 says for our dec trip.

I really hope that Disney will care enough to realize that there are people who would love to stay and play at DLR and spend $$ there and not at other places. But that if given the choice of not being able to go or just spending fewer days there, we may someday chose fewer days or not go there at all.
