I voted YES. The Adventurer's Club is soo Disney and so unique! Donna Charles, one of the best streetmosphere actresses ever, originated the role of Pamela Perkins at the club's conception and I cannot imagine it not continuing.

IMO the "party district" and "kid friendly" don't go.

IMO Disney will lose business to Universal City Walk x 100 now.

However, NOTHING can replace the Adventurer's Club!

Adios pleasure island.
Even when I was in my early and mid twenties, I was never a big fan of those loud clubs. And now that I'm in my thirties, I have no use for them at all. I like to have a drink in a bar, but places like the ESPN club and Jellyrolls do just fine.
And as far as the Adventureres Club goes, I never saw the appeal. There are thousands of things in WDW that are delightfully silly that I love, but the adventureres club was never one of them.

We LOVED the Adventure's Club and will miss it. Also enjoyed the Comedy Warehouse. However, PI hasn't been the same for many years. I can remember when they had alot of different things going on there but it just seemed to go downhill.

I am definitely bumming about this one! With DH & I being child-free it "was" one of the only places to go to get away from the kiddies for a little while (no offense to people with kids). We have made it a tradition to visit the Comedy Club & the Adventurers Club every visit and had always had a great time, unfortunately when they opened up the the walkway a few years ago that started the downfall of Pleasure Island. There were many more parents bringing their children into the clubs and then shortly after that they tore down the West End Stage, we truly loved celebrating the New Year each evening!

For DH & I, the two clubs mentioned above will be sadly missed.:sad1:

I can't believe they will be shutting down AC. We have had a lot of fun and some great memories have been made there. I hope they have plans to replace it sometime in the future.

I agree with this. It seems like with all the construction, changing admission policies, losing all the atmosphere, Disney pretty much killed PI. I am surprised they're gutting it. It's like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

I will Badly miss PI :sad2: . It hasn't been the same since they opened the area to allow people under 18 in there and that seems to be the time frame when they started having trouble with Gang type Loitering around the area. Now there's no reason for me to go to the DTD Hotels at all so I'll probably spend more time at Uni.

I will miss the CW and the AC very much! My honey is going to miss 8Traks and Mannequins. I hope that the AC is brought back to life someday.

I could tell something was different when we were there a few weeks ago. I am surprised about the Adventurer's Club and Comedy Warehouse. They both offer something different than the "high energy" clubs references in the article. There is A LOT of memorabilia in the AC. I would love to see them do something special as a send off to it.

I may have to make a weekend trip to Kungaloosh one last time before my planned trip in October.

Adventurers Club is my favorite and am so sad to see it go, especially the Jungle Juice. LOL

We LOVE Adventurer's Club and Comedy warehouse. We love it so much that last time we went, we even took out 13 year old DS with us, so he could experience. it. He is big time into comedy. Don't really care for the other clubs, although we liked it when they had a country club years ago.
I sure hope they recreate AC and CW elsewhere. I think they're doing a great disservice to their loyal customers and to themselves. Vegas regretted the move to family friendly and is moving back to an adult environment. Adults love Disney and it was nice to have something special for us. All of Disney is for kids of all ages. What's wrong with one place for just adults?
March 07 we enjoyed a trip with the grandparents and my DH was included in the fun at AC. Forgot my camera at the room and now no chance to recreate :(

Won't miss them. Even remotely. AC was kind of ..... a let down. After reading the raves I was expecting to enjoy it. But we left after about 30 minutes and honestly had no intention of ever going to PI again. Now that I hear about a makeover, maybe we'll check it out again.

As several others have mentioned, We will miss CW & AC but didn't really care for the other clubs although we did enjoy walking down the street listening to the music from the clubs. Since they closed R & R Beach Club earlier, this was the only other club we ever frequented, we really won't miss the others that much but regret that there won't be an "Adult" area anymore.:sad2: Why they think they need another dining & shopping area is beyond me.

I wont Miss it......As i have not been in years and probally would not go back.
BUT the thought of it did make me cringe a bit that it wasnt going toeb there.

When i did live in Orlando, about 12 years ago, I went there most every weekend!
HAD REALLY GREAT TIMES THERE.

It is sad that is willbe going away!

And i cannot imagine what they will put there that will draw in more people than Universal City Walk

I've been to Downtown/Pleasure Island last year but during the day though. There's always other clubs near Disney I think. Otherwise only left is Universal's Citywalk and clubs along International Dr.

I can't really vote since I have never been to ANY of the clubs on PI, but I will visit AC in August to weigh in. . .As far as comedy clubs go. . .sweeties, I live in Vegas. . .nuff said. . ..

Hoopla!!!!! (did you say it back?? - at least in your mind)

I for one will miss AC tremendously.

My brother and I would go and stay all night, seeing every show.

I know the club was not for everyone, and thats fine. We'd see people come in, look puzzled, get ripped by the Colonel, and quickly leave. Hilarious! The Colonel has brought me to tears laughing so hard. I'll miss that.

For me, the AC is my style. I think either you get it or you don't (my wife never did so not to say if you don't anything is wrong - that's why I'd go with my brother).

I'm thankful to have a trip booked for September 13-20 before AC closes so I can thank the cast personally for all the good times they've given me. Many of whom have been there for years (its like seeing old friends).

I'd love to be there for last call with the Colonel, Pamelia, Hathaway, Otis, Samantha (who I secretly have a crush on), Fletcher, Emil, Graves, and the Maid on September 27th, but I'll just have to raise a glass at home that evening.

No doubt, An Adventurers Life is Best!

KUNGALOOSH!!!!!

Had I known last week while I was at WDW that Disney was going to close AC before my next trip, I would have paid one last visit to the club. I was planning on returning to AC with my princess: during our romantic trip there over Thanksgiving weekend.

I am not big on going out for a drink at places that have loud music. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy live rock music, but I enjoy places like AC more when I am out drinking. The AC was a wonderful place to be entertained while having a drink. Places like that are disappearing. Someone should remind Disney they are in the entertainment business, not just the restaurant business.

The first time DH and I went to PI was on our honeymoon in 1989. We thought it was great that Disney finally did something for adults. Mannequins, CW, AC, 8trax, the Country & Western place-all of those places were great fun. Even the shopping was unique. Remember the store with the Jessica Rabbitt sign! Every trip, one night we had dinner on the Empress Lily, followed by at an evening at PI.

Like many, we watched PI deteriorate over the years and just lost interest in the place. It was noisy, often times dirty and numerous attempts to reinvigorate the place failed. We liked the Jazz club; it didn't last long. It wasn't worth it to go only for two clubs. I guess like many venues, it's shelf life has expired.

I will go for one last visit on my trip in August. While it was a fun place to go, with the exception of AC and CW, there isn't much there anymore except stores.

I do hope they move the AC to some other location because that was and remains a very good venue.
