DS needs to know: If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

Thank you for doing this for him!

I would have majored in something different or added a second major that was actually worthwhile...lol

I would have had more kids. One was right at the time, but now I wish I had at least one more.

I would not start smoking at age 11 and then I probably would not be dealing with bladder cancer now.

I would not have let the fact that I was bulllied, allow me to bully others...
as crud rolls downhill

I wouldn't change anything.

Life isn't perfect, but there's so much that's right (a wonderful husband, great kids, good friends) that I'd honestly be afraid to change anything, just in case I lose something I value.

I'm happy with what I've got. I don't want anything different.

I wouldn't change anything either. Not because I got it all right--far from that. But every experience I've had makes me who I am today. Even the bad ones. In fact, those difficult times have given me a depth of knowledge and a sense of compassion that I might not have had otherwise.

I would also change the fact that I chose not to go to college. I didn't want to go at the time but now, at 45, I wish I had gone and gotten a degree.

My advice to MOST kids (not all because I know college isn't for everyone) is to go to college.

I would have went for my annual mammograms instead of putting it off because having advanced stage breast cancer is much more time consuming than those annual exams would have been.

I would have saved more money when I was younger. I had a part time job in high school and spent every cent I earned. :sad2:

I would have taken better care of myself. Physically, mentally and emotionally.

I think I would have went and got a job right after I had DD.
I had her young and wanted to be a stay at home mom and go to school at night.
5 years later, I have a BA in Ele. Education w/ special ed cert and psychology but can't find a job and after the rotten student teaching experience I had, I am not sure I even want to teach anymore.
Yes, I know my response seems odd lol.

I would have waited to have children when I was a bit older.

I'm not sure I'd change anything.
One thing I do wonder about is, twice over the last 35 years I left jobs because of impossible conditions. In both cases conditions were clearly made impossible so I WOULD leave.
I worked my tail off until I clocked out the last day, and left quietly.
I wonder if I should have given my bosses a piece of my mind and left in a huff.
Not sure that would have been a good idea however. As my dad would say, your reputation is very important. Because of how I conducted myself, I was unemployed a total of 2 days, the first time, and 4 days the second.
And, in the "there is a God" department, in both cases my departure caused huge problems for the bosses who wanted me out, and in the last case, cost the company over $20,000.

I would have gone to college and gotten a degree instead of going to work and now having to work at a job with no promotion.
