We are going to DW for the first time in years on September 1st. I will be traveling with my husband, 2.5 year old, my parents, a granny and an aunt.

We have 5 park days, no park hopper. We are planning on doing MK 2 days, AK, 1 day and HS 2 days.

Epcot seems to be a lot of walking (worried about this for my granny and aunt) and not a whole lot for a preschooler to do.

Will we regret not visiting Epcot??

Absolutely. There is so much to do for a preschooler at EPCOT. That is our favorite park (and MK). I feel AK will have the most walking and by far the hottest park. AK has hills.

EPCOT has Crush, Nemo, Figment, etc. I feel the adults will love the countries. They have the best food in Disney.

Also there is the Kidcot spots where they collect stamps of all the countries.

There is also a character spot with many of the Disney characters. Also there are many princesses in the countries.

I would reconsider and cancel one HS day. We have been there a lot that we sometimes skip AK but never EPCOT.

I would also replace one day at DHS with Epcot. DHS is my least favorite park though and I am fine to skip it completely.

Don't think you'll have enough to keep busy for two whole days at HS. Definitely switch one out for Epcot!

I would agree with above. I'd skip AK before Epcot. Memo ride and the seas are awesome for kids, and figment, characters, and I'm sure adults would enjoy world showcase. AK is a lot of walking, our kids vote to skip every year.

Agreed, you will definitely miss it. Do only one day at DHS (not as much for a toddler there) and one at Epcot. The Character Spot is the best/least crowded meet and greet. My DS (2 at the time) loved The Living seas with Nemo, he loved spaceship earth and while he napped we walked the world showcase! The fountains over by Figment are also a huge hit at that age. And Illuminations was a huge hit with him too. The kidcot stations were a little over his head at that age.

We had an 8 day park hopper and 1 day at DHS was more than enough for us. BUT DON"T SKIP AK!!! That was one of our favorite places with DS! He loved the safari and all the animals, and the bird show, the Lion King show and the Nemo show were huge hits.

we can generally get in and out of DHS in 6 hours (on a late Aug visit). it is NOT a 2 day park. Epcot has so much though -- even if you dont get to World Showcase --

Even though you've obviously heard how we all feel, I thought I'd throw my two sense in!

When my kids were 2 1/2 there was hardly anything they could (or were allowed to) do at HS. There are a few shows and some characters, but even now that they are almost 5, we never spend more than a few hours there. (I'm sure when they get older that will change!)

They love Epcot and there's so much for them to do and see. The countries are my personal favorite part of WDW! Epcot is also very flat!

ENJOY!

Personally, I would skip AK over Epcot.

September 1st is still summer weather at WDW, and AK is typically identified as "hotter than the face of the sun." It's lots and lots of walking without the a lot of the inside attractions that are in Epcot.

I think the preschooler will have a great time anywhere he goes, but the granny and the aunt will have a much easier time in Epcot.

Thanks everyone!! I will probably change one day of HS for Epcot..... If I can get the ADR's worked out!

Epcot is one of the reasons we fly all the way from the West Coast instead of just visiting Disneyland! I'd skip HS any day over Epcot. We love walking the countries and you'll find many more slow / preschool-type rides and things to explore at EP than HS. 1 day at HS should be plenty and you will also have a much larger variety of restaurants at EP if you are looking for ADRs. Many of the great restaurants are in EP. It's also one of the best parks for taking a slower pace. Many of the countries have movies / videos you can watch, or slow rides and lots of places to just sit and relax.

If you're looking for a dining reservation at Epcot, there are many options but one if our family favourites us 'Coral Reef' where you sit beside a huge aquarium, below the water level!

Get thee to Epcot....EXCEPT if your kids are Pixar nuts. My DS3 has 2 heroes named Buzz and Woody. Even if we stand on massive lines I'm sure he will insist on riding TSMM multiple times.

Good plan! I would never skip Epcot. When the kids were little it was their favorite park!:thumbsup2

We went with our 2 yo twins in may and visited all the parks and we could have easily skipped HS and AK.

I agree with everyone else. I'd do Epcot over AK or HS any day, especially with young children. :)

Epcot was my favorite park and I'd bet it was in my kids' top 2. Lots to do with a toddler. It would be a lot of walking to do in 1 day, but you don't have to do it all. I'd almost be tempted to do Epcot with a toddler almost solely for The Seas and Figment. So much fun and so neat for them. There are KidCot stations in every country in the World showcase, a cute meet and greet with Duffy the bear.
On the other hand, 2 days in Hollywood Studios would bore us. Unless I went with someone who just loved Star Wars I'm not even sure how you could fill 2 days in HS. The only ride your toddler can go on is Toy Story Mania, and then it is just shows. Lots of shows.
