I am planning our second trip to DW from May 31-June 7. My sister's family is coming with us so it will be 4 adults and 4 children. Our first trip we stayed at POR in the Alligator Bayou and loved it. We would like to stay at a moderate again this time. We are thinking of staying at the POFQ. Will we like it? The children will be 8, 6,6, and 4. So we thought they would like the pool and the colorful decor. Is there another moderate you would recommend for us, or do you think we would like POFQ.

Also, do you recommend booking rooms now and then applying the codes to them later. When do room codes usually come out for that time. I tried to look up the code history on mousesavers, but couldn't find it.

Thanks for you help.:)

I haven't actually stayed at POFQ yet, but we are going in December and I can't wait! I like the idea that it is a smaller resort. Easier to get around. My cousin stayed there last year and loved it and every review I've read has been very favorable.

I'm also glad I picked POFQ because there was a thread here a couple weeks ago asking "Which Resort would you NOT stay at" and NO ONE said POFQ! I took that to be a really good sign, especially since there were a few people who said they wouldn't stay at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian again!

I have stayed at the POFQ four times (most recently in May), and it is my favorite resort anywhere. I love the size of the resort--even the most remote rooms are within a five-seven minute walk from the food court and bus stop.

The pool is pretty cool. I love the sea serpent slide (not that I've ever gone down it--just think it looks cool).

The food court is great (although the lines can get a bit long in the morning). There are some good choice, and most things are made to order.

I have stayed in building four my last two trips and have found it to be a great location. It's steps from the food court and bus stop, and just a few minutes to the pool and boat dock.

As for booking the room early and waiting for a code, it really depends on whether or not you have your heart set on a certain resort. I usually book my room in advance, and then apply a code. Sometimes it means that I'll have to switch to a different resort if codes are unavailable, but at least I know I have a room.

Have fun planning!

We just ate dinner there last night. :jester:
We have not stayed there, but I think it would be a blast.
I love the atmosphere and architech. Plus that pool area looks great.

DH and I are headed there in just a couple of weeks. This will be our 3rd stay there (and boy is DS10 mad that he's not going) DS loves this resort as much as we do. The original plan was to stay at PC and BWI (have never stayed deluxe yet) but we gave that up to go back to POFQ. We love the size of the resort, the boat to DTD, bus service has always been great (don't remember much about the food court other than it was good) DS loved the pool and slide he was ages 4 and 5 when we stayed there. The large Mardi Gras decor in the food court did make him a little nervous the first trip ( for the first few days), but the rest of the decor was great. I'm looking forward to this resort especially since the rooms have recently been redone... that "new" feeling is always nice.

How does POFQ compare to the other mods? I've stayed at CBR, too spread out, but luckily we were in Martinique. What about CSR?

I'm glad you are asking about POFQ. I am going in October and had my heart set on WL for first three days and then BCV for last two nights. But when the codes came out all they had left was honeymoon suite at WL, which is not for me and my friend. We settled on POR but then I spoke with my mom (she goes for a week once every 2 months, sometimes more) and she told me to change to POFQ. She said it's much closer together than POR and the theming is very cute.

I haven't stayed at a moderate since 1996. I've always been at a Deluxe, so i'm a little bummed about not being at WL. But I have the BCV to look forward to at the end of my trip. The CM who booked my room at CRO said she loves POFQ and even recommended some suggestions for which rooms I should stay in. She put all the requests on my res which I thought was so cool of her. I'll let you know how my stay is when I get back.

I'd put a counter up here if I knew how......can someone help little old me????
