We probably won't be able to book for early June (4 night wonder) until mid to late October. We are wanting 2 category 8 staterooms. Does anyone know if we will have a problem booking that late or should we be ok?

You want 8 different staterooms in Cat 2?
I know they go fast. I would have to take a guess and say Good Luck in getting them. BUT I hope I am wrong.

I think the OP meant 2 cat. 8 staterooms... :confused3

You should be allright, you just may not get the best selection, or the rooms you may want...

Could you try calling them directly to see what kind of availablity is there? It may give u a general idea..

I honestly think the only difference will be the $$$$$$$$, as you know it will more than likely increase until then...

HTH :goodvibes

I think she said she wants 2 category 8 staterooms - not 8 category 2 staterooms. There are not that many category 8 staterooms on the boat (only 60 total) but you may still be able to get 2 of them. If you need connecting category 8 staterooms, then you may have more of a problem since there are only 6 sets of these available (4 sets on deck 6 and 2 sets on deck 7). If you cannot get the cat 8 rooms you want, then you should seriously consider cat 9 rooms on deck 2 (there are also cat 9 rooms on deck 1 but they have 2 smaller portholes rather than the one larger porthole that most people prefer) - they are exactly the same as cat 8 but on lower decks. There are many more of these rooms and there are even 16 sets of connecting rooms on deck 2 alone.

So, if you are unable to book cat 8 rooms in October for a June cruise, I imagine you would still be able to get a cat 9 instead.

Hope this helps!

Also remember that first seating books fast.

We want the second (late) seating anyway.. so that doesn't matter to us. And yes we are looking for two rooms category 8, maybe 7. We just got back from an 18 day vacation to WDW and Vero that combined with our oldest daughters driving lessons, 3 week dance camp for our youngest, school clothes and supplies for next year and me not getting paid during the summer (I am a preschool teacher..work regular school year) well.. during the summer money is TIGHT for us. Come fall everything falls back into normal routines and I will be getting a pay check again so we will be able to put the deposit down. By January we can pay for the cruise in full. It's just getting to early/mid fall and not having all the connecting rooms taken.

Yes, we booked connecting Category 1 staterooms for our November 2018 cruise for the Alaska itinerary. Everyone in our family has applied for passports, too, as I believe we will need them. Book the rooms early! They go quickly!

I would love to book the connecting Cat 1's but the cost of passports just blows the budget....
