Will We Get Magic Bands for DVC Rooms?

Will we receive new Magic Bands for our DVC stay coming up in September? The reason I ask is because we had a cash trip to All Star Sports a few months ago. Prior to that trip, there was a link in My Disney Experience that allowed us to customize our bands (which we picked up at the resort). I think we even linked our APs to the bands prior to receiving them.

Will we reuse these bands or will we receive new bands for this new trip in September?

The reason I ask is because currently there is no link on the DVC website or on My Disney Experience for band customization for our DVC trip in September. Will they just re-program the bands we have already when we check in at AKL in September?

Sorry, this has probably been covered a zillion times already. Thanks:)

Yes you will get new MB. You need to add the reservation to the MDE, so that you can customize the bands.

Thank you com_op. I looked a further on the MDE website under Account Options. It does appear we have magic bands ordered. Now I'm curious to see if we will get two sets since we have a split stay. I'd love to only have one set.

You can use the same set for both parts of the trip, even if you get two sets. If you don't even want to receive the second set, you can call member services and ask them to supress magic bands on the second part of your stay. We have a five night split stay coming up, five different hotels, and they were able to cancel the magic bands for all but the first night.

There isn't anything on the band to re-program, all they have is a passcode which allows access to your MDE account.

You can inactivate any MB in your account that you don't wish to use.

You might as well bring 2 sets. If 1 band gets lost / broken during the trip, you an have Disney deactivate that one and you can use the other, instead of paying for a replacement (or just getting a gray one)

Thank you all for the information. We had an issue yesterday with our bands on a day trip to AK. My DH's band was not working and we had to go to guest services to get it straightened out. He wasn't a happy camper. When we went at Thanksgiving he originally was not going to be able to go. At the last minute he could, so we called and got another room under his name (would have been over occupancy in the one room). Somehow he got his own MDE account set up with his band for his room. Now, I have my account that I thought I pulled him in under and I used to set up FP+. All worked great in November.

When we got to AK yesterday, his band denied him access, even though his ticket was tied to that band and his room in November. I don't know how they fixed it but Guest Services said they sent him a friend request from my account and he was OK. It was confusing because he was already showing up in my account when I log in. I just don't want anything to go wrong with these bands. It's our 25th wedding anniversary. First trip without any kids (all 3 will be in college come August). Money will be tight so we are saving like crazy to make this trip very special and I don't want to spend part of each day at Guest Services because a band won't work. For us, I think the fewer bands we have to deal with, the better.
