Will We Fit??

We've been camping at FW for several years now, never in a small rig. My DH is pretty good at getting into whatever site he's assigned - if it's mathematically possible, he can do it, so I've never paid a whole lot of attention. However, he just traded up to the biggest MH we've had yet - a 45' Haulmark on a Freightliner Coronado chassis (full tandem axle) with a turning radius I don't even want to think about. To me parking this thing seems akin to docking the Queen Mary. We have a preferred site for T'giving week. I've gotten a premium site for Sunday-Wednesday and I'm trying to get premium for the rest of the week as well, but I'm not holding out much hope at that time of year. Are we going to fit into a preferred site? I'm not so much worried about length of site as maneuvering room, especially with folks parking their trucks so close to (or hanging onto) the road. Regarding the premium sites, has anyone seen them and are they much easier to get into?

I know this is a little different, but it still might ease your mind a little. When we were there last we had a preferred site and I was able to get our 38' fifth wheel which I tow with a Freightliner Crew Cab truck into the site without too much of an issue. In fact, I've seen worse sites at other campgrounds. There has been pictures of the new premium sites on the DIS boards and they look easier to get into then the old preferred sites. It looks as though one of the improvements was to widen the entry to the sites. We leave out in about a week to the Fort. I reserved a premium site and don't have any worries with our new 40' fifth wheel.

Good luck and happy travels!

I got the bus in last year and unlike a standard RV the rear wheels are set further back making the turning radius a bit challenging sometimes.
The wheel base on my 40 ft bus should be the same as the wheel base on a 45 ft. RV.
I just put the tag axel at the marker post "almost touching" and turned the wheel as far as it would go and I was in.
Pulled out once to adjust a little but that was it.
Looking at the site, the street width, the recycling barrel across the street and the site marker I was not sure I was going to make it in with one shot but none the less, you should fit.
That being said, this year we are trying one of the premium sites.

I've seen some large coaches in the 500 loop and the 700 loop, so you are going to be just fine. Just be sure that the size of your coach was noted on the computer in CRO.
