We will be at MGM on Sunday, May 20 -- opening weekend of the Star Wars stuff. We currently are planning to leave the park and go to Maya Grill for dinner with ADR at 5pm. I have heard that if the parks "get full" they will close them and allow no more guests. Should we be concerned about not beong allowed back in? We don't have hoppers so we could be out of the park for the night . . . So what do you all think or have experienced? Should we be worried and change our ADR?

tia!

I have only really ever heard of them having to close the parks over the Christmas Holidays and sometimes during Easter. I don't know if they've ever had to do it at any other time.

But, I guess it is a risk.

Thanks Christine for your reply. We were there last year during spring break and didn't have problems when we park hopped, but thought we would check to see others experience. . .

Hey, we'll be there the same weekend! :darth:

You should be OK - - most of the Star Wars Weekend Activities take place in earlier in the day up to late afternoon, and usually center around the side of the park where the Star Tours ride is. There may be bigger crowds because it's the first weekend of the event, but it shouldn't be bad enough to close the park.

You may want to check out the threads on the Theme Parks and Strategies Board -- there have been some recent discussions about SWW events and crowds.
