Will we be able to walk into a restaurant at MK on Thanksgiving?

There are no reservations available anywhere in MK in the afternoon. We wanted the Liberty Tree since they are offering a Thanksgiving meal but that booked up quick I'm sure. Do you think we will be able to walk into a table service restaurant to eat on Thanksgiving or will we be pretty much outta luck?

Thanks.

You can walk in, but you'll be walking right out again....sorry, couldn't resist.
I suppose you can always try, but when we were at WDW for Thanksgiving, I overheard a lot of people saying they couldn't find anywhere to eat, and that they should have made reservations.
I know that I made our ADRs as soon as the window opened for booking, and the more popular spots booked up for Thanksgiving dinner in a matter of hours!!!
You 'may' be able to find a restaurant in a resort, but even that's going to be tough at this point. Or, head to the restaurant as soon as they open and see if they can squeeze you in at some point, but I wouldn't hold out much hope.

Keep checking the WDW Dining website everyday till you leave and you can call WDW-DINE while you're there. People cancel all the time and plans change.

We'll be there next week and just last night I found Chef Mickeys for 4:30 pm on Thanksgiving  I've seen Ohana as well as other hard to get ADR's. It does pay to check the Disney web site several times a day. You might get lucky good luck :goodvibes

I think it's unlikely to get a walk-in on Thanksgiving. When we went that week 3 years ago, I made reservations a few weeks before and there was very little left. As PP said, I would try resort restaurants, and if you don't have luck the first time, try, try again. Also, a willingness to eat at "off" times is key.

We're heading back this Thanksgiving, and though I made reservations at the 180 day mark, we're eating at a resort because we had a good meal there 3 Thanksgivings ago.

Good luck!! :goodvibes

Get online multiple times a day everyday and check the website for cancellations. If you are lucky, you might be able to pick one up. I think your chances of getting a walk-in on Thanksgiving day are slim to none. That is a day that everyone wants a TS. Plus, I think LTT is probably one of the, if not the, most popular places for that day. I would just about bet you won't be the only one online multiple times every day trying to pick something up.

Try the Wave at the Contemporary.

There are a few restaurants that don't take ADRs. So you can try those too if you get stuck. I can think of Big River Grille and Beaches and Cream.

And AllEars is writing about Thanksgiving at the Fort.

It says there is currently availability, but I don't know when that article was written.

Good luck!

I would say not to worry about it people are late for and leave open reservations all the time. Just keep checking something is bound to open up for you :)

Keep trying, you never know. But I believe your chances are slim to none. You are looking for either a cancellation or a no show, and neither is likely.
CS can even take up to an hour in line.
Good Luck

I don't know how big your party is, but I just checked thanksgiving day for 4 people, and as far as Magic Kingdom, or not too far from there, I came up with Tony's Town Square (Italian) at 11:45 a.m. in MK; Plaza at 1:05 in MK (mostly sandwiches if I remember right)

For nearby places there was also one available at 11:15 a.m. at the Trial's End at Fort Wilderness. It is a buffet and it will have thanksgiving type food that day. Personally, if it were me, I would jump on that one. You can take a boat there from MK. The only problem is that if MK closes to capacity that day, you may not get back into MK after eating.

Since you said "afternoon", I also ran a seach on anything available from 12-4 anywhere at WDW. There are only 21 TS places anywhere on property with availability in that time frame. None in MK, or even close. Mostly they are DTD or Epcot WS places. There are a couple at the resorts. Most of them are places I don't think you will get the traditional American Thanksgiving. Kouzzina over at the Boardwalk had a 2:15 p.m. I've heard that it specially serves traditional thanksgiving food that day, but I don't know that for a fact.

Thanks everyone. We have 7 people in our party which I think is where the difficulty lies. We won't be leaving MK once we arrive for the day so Chicken Fingers and fries itmay be for our brood. LOL I will keep checking though.

Definitely keep checking a few times a day.
There will most likely be a sign in front of guest services that says no more table service reservations are available for the day.

How about a sit down breakfast before MK? Looks like The Wave and Grand Floridian Cafe have early morning availability.

Don't count on it.

Your best shot may be the Diamond Horseshoe as I would guess some folks don't know it will be serving dinner (same menu as Liberty Tree). But even with Diamond Horseshoe open for dinner, there are still only six TS restaurants at MK. I would think you may be out of luck for a walk-in on one of the busiest dining days at WDW.

Keep trying....

but we tried to walk in last Monday 20 minutes before opening and they were booked the whole day. If they're booked on Thanksgiving.... I'd say there's not a great chance :(
