We will be heading to Disney this summer for a 2-week stay, something we've never done before. We will most likely rent a pool home. I'm wondering if the owner will require house cleaning visit mid-stay or if they would wait until we left to have the place cleaned. We aren't messy people and are perfectly happy to tidy up ourselves if it saves us from paying a $60 cleaning fee.

I'd imagine most will not, but it can always vary from owner to owner.

None of the house/townhome's I've looked at require a mid-stay cleaning. Some charge a cleaning fee if you have a short stay, but they don't clean until you leave. I think for short stays they charge the fee since they have to clean between clients and a bunch of short stays adds up in cleaning fees for them.

Most homes are considered "self-catering" which means once you're there you're on your own as far as cleaning, laundry, changing sheets........

The listing should specify when a cleaning fee is required.

Most owners for any stay over a week include the cleaning charge in the rate.If you ask for a mid stay clean then you will be charged for that. The house needs to be done by the cleaning crew at the end of the stay so it is up to the correct level but this would not be charged to you by most owners.

Owners just clean after you leave. We've stayed for 2 week periods and just clean up ourselves whenever it's needed. (You can pay for a mid stay clean if you want one but we never do.)
