Will This PTR Be A Jinx? A 2nd bday "do-over" trip. Dec '12 *Update 12/7*

Ok folks....I'm going to be posting trip day two. But first I must introduce a new member of our cast

Say hello to our new transportation
car.jpg

We traded up from a 2010 Honda Accord to a 2012 Honda CRV. I'm totally in love with it and the room is to die for. It's just perfect for us. And honestly I never really liked the Accord. It was just something that had extra doors.

Anyways, on to the itinerary!

December 16th Day 2

This day is pretty down and open. We'll be spending the day with Becca and her husband all day. We'll probably do more christmas decoration viewing at the resorts and possibly some outlet shopping. I really want to try Pizza Uno since we don't have them here. And maybe also eat at Friendlys since we don't have those here too.

I also made another clothing purchase for Alex but it's downstairs in the wash so I'll have to post a picture of it later.

Also want to leave you with a few cute and funny pictures of Alex from this last week. I just love this age so much. Poor guy is cutting his 2 year molars though. Looks just so painful and he wakes up from his naps screaming and crying for 20 min or so till I can get him to calm down. Poor kiddo.

I finally found one of those juice box holders. I think this will come in handy in the parks

On a personal note DH and I's birthdays were last weekend. We went to dinner with some friends at Bahama Breeze and I had my first cocktail since before I got pregnant and it was delicious and then we went to see Nemo in 3D which was so much fun! :3dglasses It was nice to have an adult night. We went and treated ourselves to the new iPhones but they won't be in for another 2.5 weeks. Bummer yes but hopefully they'll just help me with my live tweeting from the world. I do hope you all follow me.

Have any of you thought about what your kiddos (or you) are going to be for Halloween? I think DH and Alex are going to be greasers and I'm going to be a Pink Lady. I can't wait! :thumbsup2

Poor Alex and the teething. Some kids have it rougher than others.

All of his teething has been hard on him but some are worse than others. I have to say his eye teeth and these two year molars are the worst. I've never seen him stick his fingers in his mouth due to pain in there. Poor kid :( I just wish they would come through already.

I thought y'all would get a kick out of this. Last night on our way to the dealership to sign a paper they forgot to have us sign the night we bought the CRV DH was teasing me saying we could never go to WDW again because he doesn't love it as much as I do and then popping up his Mickey tattoo on his wrist with a sly smile on his face. He wants to surprise Alex with a trip to Disney but I told him that since we plan on taking him every year and eventually joining DVC that it'd be impossible to surprise him. He said "we can't take him every year"! I said "like hell we can't! I went every year as a kid! I never believed in Santa but I believed in Mickey and Disney so that was my Santa and I want Alex to have the same thing! That kind of magic can be carried into being an adult! It's important!!!!" He said he didn't realize I had gone every year as a kid. Silly man haha! He wasn't serious about not going to Disney every year either just so we're clear :) he could never to a year w/o going at least once :) I just thought it was a funny convo.

Nice ride :thumbsup2

Sounds like a good down day.

You know I love me some friendlys. I have only been to pizzeria Uno once or twice. That was like ten years ago. It is not bad :goodvibes

Cute pics of Alex of course. What happened to his cheek? Did he fall?

That stinks about his teeth. I hope they come in soon

Sounds like DH and Steve where on same wavelength with steve teasing me saying he didn't think he wanted to go anymore.

These guys kill me :rotfl2:

Happy belated birthday! You'll have to let us know how the iPhone 5 is. I just upgraded my 4 to the latest operating system, and even that is pretty fantastic.

I, too, love the pictures of the Christmas trees. We are going for a quick weekend in December to resort-hop and see the different decorations, and I can't wait!

I have got some catching up to do!
The stride rite shoes are absolutely adorable. I know which ones you are talking about. Too bad there is no way I could rationalize spending that much on shoes for lo. But I totally agree best Mickey shoes I have ever seen! I have bought lo lots of tshirts for our trip. I just need to get a few long sleeve ones now. The funny thing is that some of his tshirts are 6-9 months which I bought for our last trip in Feb and some are 12 month that I bought for this summer but they are so huge and lo is so small that I think they will end up fitting when he is 16 months...so in the end it will work out okay and he will end up getting to wear them after all.

All of your Christmas pics made me more excited for our trip. This will be our first time being there for the decorations. I really look forward to visiting all of the resorts.

I have also thought about the sleigh ride after reading another review. Like I said before lo will be 16 months and I just don’t know if he will sit through it?? I’m sure with the horse and decorations (and of course snacks lol) we could make it through if we end up doing it.

Teething is super fun…okay it is just about the opposite. Lo is working on his molars which will be teeth 9 and 10. All of the others came through without any fuss at all, but these seem to be a different story. He is in a lot of plain. He chews on his burp rag (which he treats like a blanky) all the time. IF that isn’t in his mouth it seems that his fingers are. The other night he kept waking up crying. It was just awful to hear him in pain like that. I have tried teething toys but he doesn’t seem to have much interest in them. I'm just hoping that this pain now means that we will have a smooth trip next month and his teeth will give him a break.

I love the picture of Alex all up against the door… that is too cute! It sounds like you are doing a great job getting prepared for your trip!

Hey, where's day 3 at, I need details to steal for my trip! popcorn::

Sorry to hear about the teething, not a fun stage :crazy2: Have any of the topical ointments worked for him?

And I agree with Sharky, the hubbies like to grumble but all of us guys are addicts too ...well me probably more than most but I know they have the bug too :thumbsup2

I just wanted to let you guys know that I AM still alive. I will come back tomorrow hopefully to respond to everyone and do a little trip update. :thumbsup2 I've been a very bad DISer lately

Tsk Tsk :p

I guess we can forgive you :rotfl2:

I forgot how I ended up reading your first trip report but count in with the folks who hope this one is 10000 times better! i'm heading to WDW for my birthday (I'm turning a bit older than 2 though ). I hope to spend pretty much the whole day at MK too since the last time I went I didn't really enjoy myself (Going to Disney at 12 with only your 70 something year old grandmother is certainly an experience though props to her for taking me since I was a little word that rhymes with witch). Can't wait to read about your trip in December!

Thank you my dear :)

That's good to hear :) I think Becca likes it so hopefully she will accompany us there.

Hmmm have to think back. Kid is so accident prone. I think that one was from him falling on my Mom's deck stairs.

Thanks girl. He's stopped teething again and still no teeth although they looked as though they would pop through at any minute the last time. Hopefully this next time they will come through finally.

Haha yeah funny men!

Thank you ever so much! I finally got the 5 a week or so ago. So far it's really nice despite the SIM card issues I've been having but that's AT&T not the phone. I haven't tried the panoramic camera yet but I'm excited to try it out. Maybe this weekend.

Oh you will love all of the resort decorations. That alone is worth the trip down there. :thumbsup2

Yeah it's hard to rationalize spending that kind of money on shoes they will grow out of SO fast but I may break down and get them LOL. We shall see how weak I am. He's out growing size 6 shoes already *sigh*. That's funny about the shirt sizes. Alex is like that too. He's still in 18 month pants but also 2T fits him too they're just long. Shirts he can wear anything from 18 month to 3T depending on the manufacturer. The Disney Store shirts are still huge on him but he still wears them. I just got him a cute new long sleeve Rex shirt from Old Navy on clearance (Toy Story Rex). He has way too many tshirts as it is but I just can't resist LOL.

You are going to LOVE the way Disney does it for Christmas. I mean, seriously, Christmas and Disney are magical seperated but together.....I get goose bumps just thinking about it. You are going to have THE BEST time!

Ugh Teething is the pits! Alex had the hardest time with his molars. I hope your LO's have popped through by now. Have you tried alternating Ibuprofen and Tylenol? That helped Alex some more than just Tylenol. Alex never had interest in teething toys either. I did give him a cold rag to chew on a few times and that seemed to help some but not a ton.

Haha thank you :thumbsup2

LOL sorry sorry I'm getting there I promise. It's so hard to find/make time for the DIS. By the time Alex is in bed I don't even want to think any more. I used to be so good with keeping up with everything here. Life is just going at lightening speed ever since he was born. I can't believe his birthday is in a little over a month. *sigh*

I tried orajel when he was younger and it did help but after he hit a year old not so much. I give him Tylenol and that works wonders for him thank goodness but he still is super cranky. We're on a teething break for a bit though thank goodness. I pray it doesn't start up again before our trip.

haha you are right. They both love it. I know Chris can't wait to go again despite what happened in February.

Tsk Tsk :p

haha thanks

Aww well thanks a bunch! Yay for celebrating your birthday at WDW!! DH and I did that quite a few times and it's just the best walking around having everyone tell you happy birthday. It's like they all came to the parks to celebrate you! Oh man I can imagine how that wasn't so much fun for you at 12 but this time will be much better. You can go where you want and do what you want. It will be great! Thank you! :thumbsup2

Ok all replied now.......off to do more updates. First I will do a life update and post pictures from our Pumpkin Patch trip on Sunday and then I will do a day 3 update on the trip.

Ok yet another life update and then we will move on to the PTR again because I know that's what y'all are really here for. This is mostly just pictures so it should be pretty quick.

We went to the Pumpkin Patch on Sunday to get some pictures and a couple of small pumpkins for Alex to finger paint (which we have yet to do). We got some really great pictures I think so I just have to share them with you all. Alex is ALL boy and he was covered in red Georgia clay dirt by the time we left. All over his shoes, jeans and even his face haha! Boys!

That's all of those :) Hope you guys enjoyed! Next up, Day 3 trip plans :dance3:

December 17 - Day 3 - Birthday day!!!!!! :dance3:

On this day I have planned a breakfast at 'Ohana with Lilo and Stitch to start Alex's birthday off right. I had originally slated it for 7:45am but I'm going to see if I can get a later ADR because we were going to be at MK for rope drop but now we are planning on just taking it easy most of the day and going to MVMCP that evening. So this day is kind of a boring update since there's not much going on really. I'm not sure where we will eat lunch at. Maybe somewhere off property since it's a down day. I do want to go to the outlets so I think we will make it there and probably have lunch somewhere near by. Any recommendations? We will get to MK at 4:00pm with Becca in tow since we are treating her to the party for her birthday as well. Hers is on November 15th so a few weeks late but better late than never. We will probably stay until closing since we don't have to be up early the next day either. I think all of these lax days are going to make this trip much better than last trip. Yeah it's a bit boring to read about now LOL but I think we will have a good trip and a good TR for y'all to read when we get back. As long as no one gets sick this time I call it a win! I'm not sure what we will do for dinner on this night either. I really need to get on the ADR stuff. I doubt I'll be able to get anything at this point in the game. Geez! :confused3 Ok as I'm typing this I just made another ADR for Ohana at 10:20am. I'd prefer one around 8:30am but apparently that's a hot time. I'll have to keep trying. But I just scored Tony's at 5:15 that night!!! :dance3::yay::dance3::yay::dance3::yay:

We are taking Alex's pictures this weekend for his birthday party invites so I will have another life update after the weekend for y'all. I plan on having his party on December 9th so I need to get the invites out in the next couple of weeks. I can't believe it's already here. Sheesh! Anyways, there's a one year old picture of Alex in the first post if you guys want to see what he looked like last year around this time. I won't post it again here.

I'll leave you with a few more pictures from our December 2009 trip

Here's one of him as an itty bitty baby (5 days old)

Me too! I just love looking back on those pictures. It's hard to believe he was ever that small! I miss it *sniff*

Thank you!

Yes it is very exciting and fun! I bet Harper will be walking around for the pumpkin patch next year! He really did have a lot of fun. This age is so great. They're so curious

Love all the pumpkin pics. Looks like Alex is having a blast

I did not even notice the dirt on his face until you mentioned it :rotfl2:

Glad you were able to get a later Ohanas. Having a much more relaxed day will be great since you want to go party that night

Score on Tonys :thumbsup2

aww...Look how tiny he was :santa:

Thank you :goodvibes he did have a really good time

haha Sharky knows all and sees all I thought! :rolleyes1

Thanks, yeah we were planning on spending the whole day at MK but we only have 2 day part tix instead of 3 like I thought so instead of buying park tix plus buying party tix I figured it'd save us time and money just doing the party on his birthday. Think it will be better that way anyways.

Thanks! I was excited about that time when it popped up. Couldn't believe it haha

Yeah he was a little peanut :flower3:
