Will this Point Transfer Work to Book a Room?

I am looking to book at room at Saratoga for Feb 2015 and I am short a few points so a friend offered to transfer points to me to help out.
Question - I have 15 points available from my Boardwalk June 15’ use year so was going to use those towards the 20 point room at Saratoga. My friend has Saratoga February 2014 use year points to transfer. Can these be utilized with my Boardwalk points to book a room for 2/15? Would I need to bank the Feb 14’ Saratoga points first to do it, and if so do I need to bank those soon?
If the above works ok, can I then waitlist the same points used to book the Saratoga room for a room at wilderness lodge instead- in hopes it comes available later?

You can borrow the June 15 BWV points to reserve in Feb 2015. You can have transferred to you Feb 2014 SSR points that you can then bank and also use for the Feb 15 trip (they would need to be banked by Sep 30, 2014, because your trip would occur in the Feb 2015 use year for those points and transferred points retain the use year of the transferor). If you use both sets of those points to book SSR, you can waitlist for VWL, but note VWL is likely going cost more points for same size room and vacation time as SSR and thus you may need extra points available to be able to wait list.

Thanks for confirming! I am going to have one extra point transferred into my account to cover the difference in case the VWL opens up. Then will keep fingers crossed a Saturday/Sunday stay manages to open at VWL.

VWL is open for the Sunday now but not the Saturday. Thought about booking Saturday at SSR and Sunday at VWL, with hopes Saturday will open at VWL too. But with myself and three kids in tow for the trip kinda shying away from switching hotels over the two days. Hoping I'm making the right decision.
