It will probably cost them less in the long run, than paying $15/hour for a human to get your order wrong.

If they were actual cast members....not a mechanized system like these fast food restaurants are testing.

They could be mechanized cast members. Sentient droids are not too far off into the future. Knowing Disney they will have these cast members programmed to change personality to match the guest's desires.

Again, I am referring to the original post regarding the impersonal service being tested at fast food restaurants.

Automation has come to a lot of industries and it may finally come to fast food.

Our nation is at a cross roads. There is a big push to pay a living wage to jobs where the value of the labor isn't worth a living wage. Some jobs are NOT careers. Some jobs are entry level jobs for 16 year olds and 70 year olds looking to make a little extra money.
Flipping burgers is not a career. While you certainly can make $100,000 a year if you move up the ranks in the fast food industry, you won't be making that kind of money in an unskilled job.
