Will this ADR work?

We have a 7:15 ADR for Rose and Crown (for 6 people) on July 4.

We were hoping to watch the 10:00 July 4 Illuminations from either our seats or their reserved viewing area.

Would we be able to stay until then? R&C is not our first choice for dinner that night, food wise, but we decided on that just for the viewing area. If we'd have to leave prior to Illuminations anyway, we'll make our ADR somewhere else.

Anyone ever hope for an hour wait to get seated after your ADR time? ;)

That's 2 hours and 45 minutes holding onto a table. Not fair to the server or other patrons, and since your meal will only take about an hour (they are pretty efficient at serving), what are you going to be doing after...? You'd have a better time dining someplace you really like and then enjoying the fireworks outside.

I get what you're saying about holding onto the table for longer than we need it.

But, meals usually take closer to an hour and a half for us (including wait to get seated and having 2 little ones), so we wouldn't be finished until closer to 8:45. Maybe later if we order appetizers and dessert. Which is when we'd have to start finding a spot for the fireworks anyway.

Would we be able to hang around the R&C viewing area after we finished? We wouldn't be holding a table from other patrons, or the server then.

I agree with the PP that R&C is pretty efficient with serving even multiple courses. If you're finished in 90 minutes it will still be over an hour to fireworks. Would your 2 little ones be able to sit through dinner and then an additional hour at the table?

The viewing area is adjacent to the R&C patio and isn't very large. You can go there after you finish eating, but there are no seats and nothing to see while waiting because there's a high wall.

I would try for a later reservation or since it isn't your first choice of food, choose a place you want to eat at, then find a spot to view the fireworks.

The last time we ate at Rose & Crown (2010) we had a 7:00 ADR and we were done by 8:00, we mentioned that we wanted to view Illuminations from the Patio and they said no problem just come back later and mention that you finished your dinner early and allowed your table to be re-seated, we were allowed to view from the patio. This worked out great for us, we watched a band somewhere (England - the English Invasion band - I think?) and then grabbed a Guiness (sp?) and watched the show!

On our next trip our ADR time is 7:25, I can't wait!!

We just had a 7:15 reservation for 9 pm fireworks. We asked to wait for a patio table and it took until 7:50 to get one. They were busy that night, so we were still on the entree at 9 pm when the fireworks started. Great spot to view them from!
