My friend has a Pal Mickey (a couple years old) that doesn't work anymore for some reason. She said it's not the batteries - Mickey just doesn't talk or anything... If I bring it to WDW in Feb, what do you think are my chances of them replacing him if they can't "reboot" him?

My friend doesn't have the receipt anymore so I don't have proof-of-purchase.

I was in the VMK store on Main Street one day a few weeks ago, and a woman came in with the exact same situation. A Pal Mickey, bought "a couple of years ago", not working any longer, and no receipt. The CM (and CMs superior) told her they would not replace it nor give her a "discount" on a new one.

I would expect that this would probably be policy around the parks - it would be like taking back something to Toys R Us that you bought a couple years ago and was now not working and expecting them to replace it without a receipt. (This is how the supervisor explained it to the lady guest.)

It would be different if it were something that malfunctioned during soon after you purchased it.

I am afraid they will not as i discussed this when i took mine in.
but they may help you get it working again, mine had similar problem and they fixed it, not sure how but they did. It now died on me but own fault left batteries in too long and it damaged the box.
