Will they let more than 6 stay in a cabin?

We are changing our reservations from campground to cabin for February. The website said that only 6 can stay in a cabin, but it looks like there is plenty of room. We have 4 adults, 2 teenagers a three year old and a baby. I know the baby doesn't count so that would leave us one person over the limit of 6. How strict are they on this rule? I will call reservations when I can, just thought maybe someone on here would know!
Thanks,
Allie

I don't know about how strict they may be but I don't think you will easily find room for everyone to sleep. It has two double beds(not queen) and a set of bunk beds. You would need to place the pack-n-play in the kitchen area and a small bed or something between the bed and bunks in the bedroom and I'm not sure it would leave room for walking.

Our 3 yo would sleep in the twin bunk with one of our teenagers, they have slept together in a twin before so I think it would work.
I'll call to see how strict they would be.
Thanks,
Allie

I called Fort Wilderness directly and asked them. They said that the system won't let them put 7 people in a cabin. She said if we are going to do that, just don't tell them!

And if you do this, you will not have a room key for everyone in your party, so everyone will not be able to take advantage of any EMHs.

I guess if we did that also, not everyone would be able to take internal disney transportation, right : (
:guilty: Gosh, don't know what to do now

No problem with transportation, they almost never ask for ID and for the little ones it shouldn't matter. As for EMH :confused3 I don't know but the 3year old might be ok with out Id(I must have forgotten it).

We just got back from a week in a cabin with 2 adults, two 19 year olds and a 4 year old. With another adult it would be really crowded. The rooms are not real big and there isn't a lot of storage. We had a big duffel bag and a smaller suitcase which we just left in the hallway, DD19 left her suitcase in the living area and another full size suitcase at the foot of the bed in the bedroom. There is only a small chest in the bedroom, more the size of a lingerie chest. The two extra chairs in the living area are real small; a large adult would probably not be comfortable in them.

As far as EMH goes, the baby wouldn't need a ticket anyway, so that wouldn't be a problem. We also were never asked to show ID on the WDW busses or boats.

I was also disappointed about the lack of counter service at FW. Saturday night we just wanted a little something to eat (we were on free dining) and it was raining. I called to see what the Meadows Snack Bar had to offer and where it was located and I was told that they close down around 4 pm. But according to the Dining Plan Brochure, it's a counter service restaurant and they only serve dinner. :confused3 With a cranky 4 year old in the rain, I didn't feel like taking two busses or a bus and a boat just to grab a little bite to eat.

The Contemporary looked better and better every time we passed it on the boat as the week wore on. :goodvibes

The bunks are kind of small. I remember trying to put my then almost 2 year old in the bottom and not really being able to fit under there to tuck him in. He ended up sleeping in a pack n play anyway.

The bedroom is really, really small. It's hard to tell from pictures just exactly how small it is! The double bed is against one wall, with the bunks against the other, and a small aisle between. It's just big enough for a pack n play, making it difficult to move around.

pics that show size http://fly.hiwaay.net/~jlspence/photogal.htm

There were only 3 of us staying there, so plenty of room, but we found that the living room murphy bed was much more comfortable for the two of us than the bedroom bed, because of the wall and the crib.

The cabin next to us had about ten people, mostly young 20 somethings, I don't know how they all fit! Seriously, I don't think they check and with the little ones you could fit. It will be tight though. The bottom bunk is very small and a child over five can't sit up in it. I am claustrophobic and there is no way I could have slept in there. My kids did not mind though. There is a double bed next to the bunks, and a pull down double with a couch in the living room. So two on each double, two in one bunk, one in the other bunk and one on the couch. :thumbsup2

I am not sure about this but for the three year old, do they even check their hotel cards? Not sure??

We have seen people get checked before for having to many people in a room. It was handled discreetly and the people had to pay for an extra room going back to the begining of thier stay so it does happen I would reccomend looking for a 2 bedroom DVC unit by renting points it may work out cheaper in teh long run plus you will have a tonne more room and can have up to 8 people in it.

Well the teens may not go anyway  They just "can't" miss their "lives" for a vacation! So if they do decide to go, we will just get two rooms at Carribean Beach or somewhere like that. We may do that anyway, the pools seem much better.
Since we won't be hauling our camper, it probably won't seem like camping anyway so maybe we won't even stay at FW, who knows! So thanks for your opinions on the issue, but we will probably just do two rooms if they go with us!

What!! I must be an oddity, I'd always drop what I was doing as a teen to go to Disney World, boyfriends? whatever, give me the mouse! :)

Well, all of the teens (and one extra  ) will be going for part of the trip. So we will be staying at the all stars in two rooms. We do plan on "checking out" the campground for a future visit!
