Will they GUARANTEE connecting rooms or bunk rooms?

We are going to be adding a couple of nights onto a BCV 5 night stay and I was wondering if the value resorts would guarantee connecting rooms so we could spread out a bit?? My DH is 6'4 and we have 2 boys- the two double beds are just not enough room for us and we would want to get a king room attatched to a double room. Can we do this and not have to stress about whether or not they will give it to us when we check in? Our other option is a room at WL (if codes come out) with a queen and a bunk. Are these bunk rooms guaranteed?

There are two instances I know of where Disney will "guarantee" a room request:

1) Documented medical need -- this has to be booked through Disney directly
2) Group of 6 or more needing more than 1 room AND the group has only 1 adult there.

Otherwise, it is a "request" and Disney will do what they can to accommodate you. My experience has been very good at getting what I requested, but then I don't ask for very much. When you make the reservation, ask that they note your request. I'm sure Disney will do the best they can.

No they will not ever guarantee a room request. However, I have been going to WDW four times a year since 1980, and I always request various things on my reservation. All of these request have always been met. So, I say don't stress about it, you will probably get what you want.

We are in the same situation as you. My hubbie is a large man and my teenagers are both over 6 feet so we need more bed space than a standard room will provide.

The connecting rooms are usually guaranteed if you have 2 or less adults and children. They don't want children in their own room that is not connecting to an adults room. However, you will probably get rooms with two sets of doubles.

The only way I know to GUARANTEE a king room connecting to two doubles at All-Stars is to specifically request a room that is equipped for disabled access.

We do that when we stay at All-Stars as my hubby uses an ECV at WDW and we need the extra space for the ECV and need at least hand rails on a tub as getting in and out of the tub is difficult for him with his bad knee. Some of the disabled access rooms have a tub with handrails and some have a roll in shower. For us the king bed and the fridgie are a bonus.

We have two teenagers so that combination of rooms was blocked off for us.

I don't think you'll be able to get a guarantee of that combination at POP because some of the disable access rooms have two doubles, also there are some standard rooms with a king at POP.

I don't think you can have a bunkbed room guaranteed.

Whenever we have had connecting rooms we've been guaranteed because "children outnumber adults." And Disney will put this right on the confirmation.

Also, just FYI, I was told that over half the rooms at All Stars are connecting so I would say the chances are pretty good.

So far, the best floor plan we have enjoyed is at AKL Deluxe room. We had a queen bed, a set of bunks and a daybed. And the resort is beautfiul. But it is nice having the extra bathroom when you have connecting rooms.

In December, that was our one and only time that we requested connecting rooms and they couldn't do it. So, after the first night, we moved to connecting rooms. Or I should say they moved us.

when a party consists of 2 adults, and 2 children (or 3 children...) Disney will guarantee connecting rooms for families.
when you have a 3rd adult... that is when they will not guarantee connecting rooms,

requests such as bunk beds and views... are never guaranteed.
