I wanted to book SL but only NBC was showing the 40% off for my dates so I booked that. Now SL is showing the 40% off for same dates. Will they charge me to change hotels, I only booked 2 days ago.

It is the reviews of NBC which have put me off.

I would chose the NPBC over the SL. Both are very nice hotels but the NPBC is a little bit mor elegant. It is like the little brother of the DLH.

We stayed many times at the NPBC and we always had a very nice time and never any big findings to complain about. :thumbsup2

They wont charge you if your booking is 60 days away.

Personally the NPB is a nice hotel, i enjoyed staying there.

Totally agree Marcus, except I haven't been impressed at all with the Sequoia Lodge. :goodvibes

I have to say, I have stayed in both and I think they are both lovely hotels...

I like the SL for xmas time and NBC for summer ... if had to choose would be NBC, nearer to the park, nicer breakfasts, lighter hotel, slightly more upmarket.

Thank you for your kind replies, it is good to hear nice things about NBC. DH is keen to stay at NBC but I thought my DD might prefer SL she is 8. I wondered if the indoor pool with slides might be more fun for her than NBC.

In it's favour the SL did look beautiful at Christmas, it's just too brown for me and our almost non existant house keeping both times has probably clouded my opinion.

The Newport Bay Club is better than the Sq. Lodge in almost everyway. It is far superior in fact.

Of course the Sq. Lodge will be cheaper. You will be able to ammend your booking if booked with Disney direct but terms and conditions vary if booked though another agent - so check.

If you ammend to a cheaper option you will not receive the difference back.

Sometimes it's cheaper to lose your deposit and cancel and re book.

That hasnt happened in my case. I was able to keep my exsisting booking etc I downgraded my stay by 1 day....

I suspect the answer here is:

They won't give you an actual refund, but will deduct from any money still due...

So - if you've paid the entire balance (which I assume you have done if you've got the 40% off as this is online only and you can't pay a deposit for online bookings) then I doubt you'll get anything back.

If it was booked on the phone (and therefore a 10% deposit paid with the remaining 90% paid) then I suspect they'd leave your deposit (no refund on that) but would subtract from the remaining amount due.

i.e. if you booked a £200 holiday and paid a 10% deposit (£20) and then downgraded to a £150 holiday instead, then I suspect they'd keep your £20 deposit but only ask for £130 when the remainder is due.
