Will there be free dining in august?

Do you think there will be free dining this year starting the first of Austust? I am trying to help someone get a trip together for Aug and hoping this will happen for them.

there is no way to tell what promos will come out at this point anything would just be pure speculation. Discounts have been getting thinner and thinner this year. Keep checking back for your friends closer to the end of the month thru June. The promo has historically started coming our for fall free dining (which does not start till mid August historically) anytime from April thru June.

From what I have read, folks are hopeful but . . . Disney has said it is trying to wean us addicts from our discount addiction, and the current promo for the summer is pretty dismal, so who knows?

There has already been one offer for free dining that was for summer dates and for parts of the fall. For Aug. is was starting on the 19th. You had to book by a date in Dec. 2010. Not sure what they will offer for this year since things seem to be much slower - discount wise than in the past. The only thing out there now is for the deluxe and villas.

Like a PP mentioned, free dining dates were already available for Aug. I do believe the dates started earlier than the 19th of Aug, maybe around the 15th. It had to be booked before a certain date in Dec and it ran from Aug to I believe sometime in Oct. Head over to the discounts page on the resort board and you can find the exact info. It seems as though no more free dining dates will be released and I doubt they will rerelease it for the same dates.

Yes, it was offered during the winter months and it starts 8/19

It was already offered. You had to book by 12/20/10. I would doubt they'd offer it again.

They are not stopping it - They already offered it for 2011 - had to be booked by Dec 20th 2010 - The question is will the re-release it. I would think the answer would be coming in the next month or so.

In the middle of March I received a pin for free dining good for 4-18-11 to 8-13-11. I am using it for our first family trip in the beginning of August, otherwise we never would have gone. We can only go in the summer. I know this isn't open to everyone and you need a pin, but the offers are out there if your lucky.

We received this same pin code. You have to book by 4/30. The dates were 4/23-8/13/11. SO wish we could go!!

The success of this plan of course depends on whether Disney can wean its accountants from full occupancy in the resorts and parks!

I also got the free dining pin that is good through August 13, and I am USING it baby! (Not braggin or anything) ! My sister and I are going on a girls trip August 8-12 (Pop Century, here we come)!

Maybe if they sign up for a planning DVD and maps, it might increase their chances of getting one as welll......couldn't hurt

Also, I booked our flight through Disney, and it was $358 total from Indianapolis to Orlando. Much cheaper than anywhere else right now from what I found....

Who knows. It has been different this year than any other year and the internet isn't humming with rumors yet.
I imagine they are going to offer something for that time frame..and I think it will be sometime in May that they offer it..but it's complete specualtion as to what that will be.
I can't see nothing being offered. It's still Value/Hurricane season. But the discounts are changing from previous years.

My best guess is Free Dining being offered again.. but the Quick Service Plan for Values and Mods and the Regualr DDP for Deluxes and Villas. I would expect to see it released sometime in early May (to Disney Visa Card Holders first) and
covering the time period of August 18th (when the current promos end) and ending late September (before food and wine).

Again.. totally compeltely just my best guess.
