Planning our 2nd trip to DLR in April (2nd trip in less than 12 months - the first one was the 'once in a lifetime one' - you get the idea)

This was is a budget trip (as far as we can in DLR) and looking for great deals but concerned that April is prime Spring Break time in the US. Luckily though according to the 'When is your Spring Break' thread we may be going on a (relatively) quieter week.

I would guess that AP rates are hard to get at this time (or not discounted very heavily at this time - supply v demand etc). In July though we managed to get 4 out of 13 days at HoJo's 50% AP rate which was great so may get lucky.

If, however, HoJo have nothing during our week - 8th - 15th April, then if DL hotels particularly Paradise Pier have a good AP rate, and HoJo is coming out at full price (or just the 20% with AP) then we may do that. When would DL AP rates come out for April?

Are there any other hotels within walking distance of the parks that offer good rates to AP holders which I should be keeping my eye on?

I have maps for both parks, DCA an DLR! I STILL have Halloween covers, and World of Color covers. My map thread link is in my signature, if you’d like to see the covers! Plesae PM me with an address to send the maps to and how many you need!

Thanks,

IMO the Hojo is great at $59, fine at $79 and overpriced when it's over $100.

Anything across from the Park on Harbor is just as walkable as the Hojo or PPH and none are ever as much as the PPH AP rates.

You might want to broaden your search.

Our March trip is a budget trip too.

We have HOJOs booked for our March dates (4 nights stay) - however, no Entertainment rates have been released yet for our dates. I don't even know if there will be Ent. rates for all of our spring break dates. So, our current Disboards discounted rate is $101/night ($474 total for our 4 nights, taxes included). I agree with skiingfast's comment that anything over $100 at the HOJO is overpriced.

I've been looking for better deals. Stumbled onto the getawaytoday.com site and found the Sheraton Garden Grove for $360 total, taxes included, for all 4 nights. It's not walking distance but the getawaytoday.com site offers hotel extras like free parking, free shuttle, complimentary child's breakfast with the purchase of an adult meal. You may want to check out the other hotels on the getawaytoday.com site that are coming up less than the HOJO total price and are walking distance to the parks.
