HI! I want to plan a trip to celebrate my daughter's 1st birthday, which is Nov 6, however, I want to make sure Disney is decorated for Christmas. I know this year, the Osbourne lights, and Mickey's party started Nov 8...anyone know of the timing for 2011??????

I'm pretty sure it will be decorated! My niece and her family were there for MNSSHP on Halloween and before they left on the 4th the Christmas decorations were up! We just got back from our Dec. trip-we were in the world Dec. 15-21. Now we are planning to go back the week before Thanksgiving I think! We loved the decorations, but it would be a lot less crowded. Good luck with your planning!

Thanks!! I keep going back and forth between going nov 6 for a week or nov 17 for a week, but air will be more expensive, and we want to surprise me mother in law and take her, and my hubby doesnt think she will want to be away from home on Turkey day...so IDK what to do!!!!! The decorations are sooooo beautiful for the holidays! I have gone xmas week 3 times, and its amazing...but so crowded. such decisions!!

Just remember that the week you are going is also Jersey Week this year. If you are used to crowds at Christmas, this shouldn't be a problem for you! Just wanted to let you know!

what is jersey week? and which week is it, the 6th or 17th?

The teachers in NJ have a conference/convention every year. Kids are out of school for two days and a lot of people take their kids out for the week and go to WDW. This year the dates are November 9-10, so the week will be the 5th through the 10th. I've read several threads/articles and it's a toss-up. Some say it makes a big difference, others say it makes no difference at all. My niece and here family were there for Halloween this year and stayed through part of what was considered "Jersey Week" and encountered a lot of rude people-they said they wouldn't go back at this time of the year ever again. With that said, I know you can encounter rude people from any part of the world, not just New Jersey. Did they stop and ask the rude people where they were from-no!
I think you will be fine regardless! The biggest difference would be the crowds increasing, not the number of rude people!:thumbsup2

Guess it pays to be a teacher in NJ! lol Well, I have been there 3 times Christmas week, and 1 time for easter week, and those are the 2 most crowded weeks of the year, so I guess if I can handle that, I can handle anything!!
