Will the Maelstrom Replacement Follow the Same Route or Will it be All New?

Anyone know if this attraction is being rebuilt from scratch or will it make use of the existing waterways?

same water path.... it was torn down to the bare "log flume" and everything else build up from there. Which is sad. I needs to be a bit longer.

Have you ever seen the film "Troll Hunter"? It's a Norwegian film about a group of young people doing a documentary who inadvertently running into a guy who hunts trolls for a living.

Going into it, my one demand was that the trolls look like the trolls in the Maelstrom. They were. And the movie was fantastic. I keep telling my wife it's like Jurassic Park-meets-Maelstrom.

I don't think anyone knows for sure, but rumors seem to have it opening sometime in the spring / early summer.

You would think if it were Spring, they could maybe be able to narrow down a time window. But who knows with the. It sure would be fun to ride it on our upcoming trip. New rides are always exciting.

That's the meet and greet hall they are building, the ride is still going to be about 4 1/2 minutes long (unchanged) and likely still the slowest loading ride in Epcot, lines are going to be insane because of that.

They have combined the load and unload station to create room for another scene. This of course doesn't add anything to the track but adds about 30 seconds to the ride.

As PP said that is a meet and greet and bathroom building that is not for the ride. The ride layout will be almost exactly the same except for that load and unload station being combined.

I am going to put it out there... I am actually looking forward to the Frozen attraction. Yes, Disney have milked Frozen way too much at the parks and yes I loved Maelstrom (LOVED IT) but so long as they incorporate Norwegian history and culture into the area I think the area will still be holding true to the original purpose of World Showcase.

I'd rather have watched this movie than sit in Hall of Presidents or the American Adventure thing - to each his own though.
