Will the HRC hate us

When we eat at the HRC, we always order 2 entrees and split them between the 3 of us. Their portions are so huge that one person couldn't possibly eat it all. Thanks to Lumiere999, we will have a coupon to buy 1 entree get 1 free. Are they going to hate us if we only pay for one of the entrees then split them? I don't want to make them mad, and be treated rudely. We will also be ordering at least 1 dessert, possibly up to 3. Please give me your honest opinions. I'd rather order too much food and have lots left over, than be treated badly.

I don't know about the HRC but don't some places charge for the "extra plate" for those wanting to split a meal?

Not at all. We have done this. Order an appetizer as well and you should be fine. That way, you will have room to share, but you also spent alittle $$$ on the final bill.

They don't care. On our trip, we ordered the Jumbo Combo (app), the Nachos (app), and a salad. Everything was split between 4 people, and there was plenty to take back to the room.

Having been a server for 10 years, I wouldn't necessarily hate you, but would be upset if I got tipped on the total AFTER the discount. If you tipped accordingly BEFORE the discount, it should be fine. Thanks just my 2 cents worth...

We always tip well. I have a DN in college who is a server, and a best friend who worked as a server in college also. I know that it's not such a great job. However, I do admit that if the server goes out of their way to be nice, I give them more. For example; My son all too often decides, after we have ordered, that he wants a salad. If it is on our bill, we pay for it. If it is not, we add the price of the salad to the server's tip. Kind behavior should be rewarded. On the other hand, if they assume that I'm not going to tip well, and treat us accordingly, they will get 15% and not a cent more. Well, back to the subject at hand........

I believe that I need to work for the tips that I receive. I always have and if I get back into serving, I will continue to do so. It is a hard job and sometimes you get some people that treat you almost sub-human like. Sometimes, it's hard to keep smiling when someone just yelled at you for something that wasn't your fault, and yet you still need to be apologetic and treat that person with the utmost respect because the customer is always right. As to the original question at hand, I would never have treated anyone at that table with any discrespect, and would have hoped that I made their dining experience well worth the trip.
As for the coupon, go ahead and use it! That's why they are there - to be utilized. I would want to use it too, and would. I love saving money, especially in a theme park where things tend to be more expensive then the norm. I wouldn't hate you, just would be disappointed in the end if I was not shown appreciation.

You should not be treated unfairly at all. When we make split an entree, I always make a comment that I am saving it all up for desssert or something like that. Servers see this so often, probably more in a vacation destination when you are eating out 3 times a day. It costs a lot and no one should consume that many calories! Of course, we should tip on the total before a discount is taken.
