I think the basic point is that men don't have the luxury of deciding whether they're fit to engage in war. It doesn't matter what Joe Average thinks of his capability to handle war. Legally, to draft men and not women opens up a whole can of worms regarding discrimination based on gender.
I guess the bottom line is I can respect the fact that you don't think you're capable of handling it. But that's irrelevant to whether women as a whole should be drafted or not. Does that make any sense?
