Will Target 20% off BF coupon work for Disney gift cards?

I realize that this is probably too good to be true, but I just looked at the Target Black Friday ad. I noticed that if you spend $75 or more on Black Friday that you get a 20% coupon for a future shopping trip December 4-13. I didn't see any exclusions or "rules" listed for the coupon, though I can imagine that there are some. I know that the 5% has worked for Disney gift cards in the past. I knew if anyone knew the answer to this it would be someone on this board. Oh the stockpiling I will do if this works!!!

Oh well, It would surprise me if they allowed it, but it sure would be nice. Typically I use my Southwest CC to purchase Disney cards from the Sam's website then put them in my Disney Vacation account. That way I am saving $7 per $150 and gaining $20 per $1000 with my DVA and earning SW points along the way. I know there are other ways to make it more lucrative but that is just within my comfort zone. Thanks for your replies, I won't be banking on this one.

It did not work in 2013 and I would be shocked if it worked this year. Hopefully the language is explicit and people don't make a stink about it again.

Yes they need to make it crystal clear that gift cards will be exempt from the discount.

They have in the past, and people argued about how Target classifies the gift cards as "entertainment" cards. Despite the fact they they say "gift card" on the front and the coupon clearly excluded "gift cards." If people can find a way to complain, they will.

I just wish they would tell us the terms and conditions up front so people can decide whether trying to get the coupon is worth it. I pre-ordered Inside Out from the disneystore.com and when it shipped I was supposed to get a $10 off my next order coupon. Well the coupon showed up and it was $10 off $40 and could not be combined with any other discount, plus it was only good for about 10 days. I got a better deal using the DISNEYPAL code for 25% off and free shipping during the same time period the coupon was good for. What a rip off. Now I'm gun shy about all of these promised coupons without all the fine print up front.

In 2013 it excluded gift cards, PS4, XB1, Apple products, and video games. I think the likelihood of those being excluded again is high (although maybe there are newer gaming consoles which will be excluded--I don't keep up with that). I plan on using a $75 gift card purchased at Kroger using 4x fuel points to buy gift cards for Christmas gifts for teachers and coaches. I think but am not certain I will get the 20% off coupon which I plan to use for groceries and HBC items. I'm stocking up on coupons (through Swagbucks) hoping to stock up on stuff and get some really good deals.

This was the wording from a Feb Target percent off coupon:

*Excludes all gift cards, airtime, entertainment, iTunes, online gaming and prepaid cards

I would expect similar wording on the BF coupon.

Also, typical exclusions are the ones listed by the pp and lately, Lego has been excluded.

Yup. It used to be $10 off $20 for the Disneystore coupon (at least in store) so I would use it to pre-order the next blu-ray, lol.

It definitely won't work, however you can still get the 5% off with the REDcard. I work at Target and they got wise to the situation with coupons and gift cards. All gift cards are exempt from these kinds of coupons. Years ago I was able to buy Disney gift cards with my employee discount and then use them to buy my park tickets. We can't do that anymore either which is a real bummer.
