My family will next visit WDW in May 2017. How likely do you think it is that DHS will still be doing "Star Wars fireworks" in some form or another (with or without the enhancements being added this summer)? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Yeah considering even "temporary" things at WDW tend to last multiple years I think this one is pretty safe. At the very least they're going to need them as a park draw until the new lands open.

I'm really hoping so too, because if we return, it'll be June 2017, and we'll want to see it. But, the other factor that would keep it running, is the fact that the next Star Wars movie is supposed to be released end of 2017, so... they'll be wanting to continue the Star Wars stuff for promotion.

I'd be very happy if it continued for years to come. I love the music of Star Wars, so this show sounds like a dream come true. :lovestruc

new show coming for the summer at least. the last couple of years Dhs has had fireworks and special events through the summer months that ended in september but this new show seems like a lot of time and expense was put in. of course they wont have lights motors action anymore so that budget could be used somewhere else. I suppose it was spent on the star wars stuff. but have to admit looking forward to seeing what they have planned. too bad its during the hottest months of the year

So glad people are expecting the fireworks to stick around! I think my biggest regret from our last trip was not watching the fireworks a second time!

I've been wondering if they are only for summer like the Frozen ones were or if this is a permanent show for now cause they haven't actually clarified. Based on the wording saying it begins this summer does lead me to believe it is not only for the summer. I am hoping this is the case cause we plan on going in Oct. But a part of me is afraid to book and then find out it is temporary and ending in Sept.

They are building a permanent launch site for fireworks. They will have a permanent fireworks show.

DS5 and I watched it Friday night. It was great! He loved every second of it and every time a character would talk his eyes would get really big and he would turn to me and tell me who it was. I can't wait to go see it again.
