Will someone please critique my 2-day plan?

We are going to Universal June 24th and 25th. We are staying at a hotel near US the 23rd and getting up early to check into RPR. I was hoping to do the following:

Sunday, June 24th: get to US by 9AM.
Ride Rip Rocket, MIB, Mummy, Shrek 4D, The Simpsons, Terminator, Twister and Woody Woodpecker. Eat at the Boulangerie. Head over to IOA.
Ride the water rides (Ripsaw, Popeye and Jurassic Park). Head back to RPR to swim and grab dinner from the Bula. Go back to IOA to ride Spiderman and go to WWOHP. Get a butterbeer.

Monday, June 25th: get to IOA at 7AM for early entry.
Ride Forbidden Journey, Dr. Doom (not me but my DD15), Hulk, Storm Force, Pteranodon Flyers. Eat at Mythos at 11:45AM. If we can get late checkout at RPR, go back and check out or just do it in the morning. Then we have the rest of the day to do whatever rides we want to ride again before heading to our hotel close to the airport since we fly out Tues AM.

Is my Sunday morning way too full even with the express pass?
Thanks for any input.

From everything I've read, IOA would be your better choice for Sunday and then US on Monday.

your plan looks good to me.

you will be able to cover a lot at the studios that day.
hitting parry hotter in the evening before closing will help you with having shorter waits.

for monday you will be using early entry.
you can complete parry hotter in that first hour quite well.
if you have time left, hit spiderman before the park opens to the public.
EE also includes the spiderman ride.

i think you will be fine.

about late checkout.
usually one hour is what is given out.
that would make it for noon.

if the hotel is going to have a high occupancy rate that day, i don't know if you can get more than one hour late checkout.

ask when you check in and ask again in that morning of check out.
the front desk will have a better idea of what rooms have been assigned for that day.

if you think you will be rushed for time in the park on that monday, pack everything up before you leave for the park (EE).
if time is running close to your assigned check out, send one member (adult) in your group back to the room and have them check your belongings with valet. then that adult can check your family out of the room.
clear that with the front desk so you won't encounter any issues.

you won't have to rush back to the hotel until you are done in the park.
return to the hotel, get your stuff from valet at that point.

I would definately do US before IOA. My DH takes a group of students each year and advises them to go to US before IOA. Some take his advice and others don't. The ones that go to IOA first are then disappointed by US. The other way around you seem to enjoy everything.

With Pteranodon Flyers, you have to have someone under a particular height in order to ride it. I can't remember what the height requirement is, but last year was the last time we were able to ride it. My tall kindergartener was almost too tall when we were there last May.

Have fun! Looking forward to our return trip May 7-8!

Everything looks good. I really like your choices for dining as well as planning for the water rides and getting a change of clothing. If early admission is starting at 8, I don't think you need to be there by 7. 45 minutes early should be tons of time.

i thought the same thing damo, the op did her homework about the water rides.
leaving an offsite hotel early in sunday morning to check into rph, doing the studios would be real good.

it's tiring moving from a one night off site stay and the studios will be at a slower pace for them.

they can unwind at the hotel pool and then get their second wind and hit ioa/parry hotter before park closing.

after a night sleep at rph, they'll be fresh, so ready and excited to hit ioa for EE on monday.

sounds like a plan!

Thank you for the posts everyone! I feel better that you all think my plan is doable.
Macraven - great idea about the valet. I'd rather leave my things with them than in a really hot parked car.

Ayoung526 - I will check the height req for the ride - my DD9 is tall for her age so we will most likely just scratch that ride, which is fine.

So glad to have a plan! I was trying to be more relaxed with US/IOA than I am (planning wise) with DW, but I just couldn't show up with no idea.

Thank you!

You might want to check out Disaster too. The ride part is pretty cool and so is Christopher Walken. The line for it seems to range from 10 minutes to 45 minutes when we go. I can't pin this one down.

Terminator is great in the afternoon when you're tired and hot. It's where we love to crawl away to when we just can't take it any more. ;)

Your plan looks great.

pgirl, i just love how christopher walken is in disaster!

so kewl they way the did that up....

for those that get into the building before the big crowds, look at the pictures on the walls opposite of the doors leading into the theater.

I noticed that you left out ET and Cat in the Hat. Squeeze them in there if you can. Both are great classic rides. Perhaps you'll be lucky and Despicable Me will be open too.

Also do Horror Make Up Show. It isn't scary but it is hilarious.

Okay, I'm adding Disaster, Horror Makeup Show, Cat in the Hat and possibly ET. Not a big ET fan, but I bet my kids would like it. I love Christopher Walkin so definitely adding that. Thank you!

Try to volunteer one of your kids in Disaster. It is a lot of fun to be one of the "actors".
