My sister called yelling at me today from the Poly, saying that the parks have been jammed since last Wednesday and there are huge lines everywhere. I know crowds are going to be heavy this weekend because of the holiday, but I didn't think the early part of this week would be bad. Sometimes she tends to blow things out of proportion.

Friends of mine left yesterday for WDW, and I told them to expect moderate crowds in the early part of the week, gradually building toward the weekend. Is anyone there right now? I will feel terible if thier first trip to WDW is a crowded nightmare.

Thanks!

I guess you should feel terrible then b/c I'm betting their 1st WDW trip is probably going to be a crowded nightmare... but if they like nightmares involving Disney, then hey... it's all good! I wouldn't worry about it too much! YOU didn't force them to go right now did ya? Plus... if they ever go again (at off-season) they'll be pleasantly surprised! I trust you prepped them well on the use of FP and EMH! :earsgirl:

I bet it's crowded because some schools and colleges are off now for Spring break. Most kids are off around here the week after Easter, but alot are off the week before too and with Good Friday coming up I bet alot of people just decided to take off the whole week or most of it for a trip to WDW!

I am so puzzled. :confused3 I was just talking to a woman who just got back from a 10 day trip and she said it wasn't that bad. Said the bus wait was only 10 minutes tops. The weather was wonderful, and that the crowd was managable. So hard to figure out when you get so many different stories. Guess we will have to go see for ourselves, and just take it as it comes.  Either way who cares we are going to Disney World!! Leaving this Friday and I can't wait!!! :bounce: :bounce:

I was there on Friday and wait times were 65 minutes for Space Mountain, 55 minutes for Buzz and Pooh....I could go on! Very crowded! I heard many people talking on the buses saying they had just gotten to WDW that morning for Spring Break. The line for the monorail at the TTC was outside of the que area! It's just that time of the year...lots of families taking advantage of spring break and Easter holidays.

Family returned this past Sat. and said as long as you managed your Fast Passes everything was ok.

We just returned Sunday from a week at WDW. Saturday was jampacked at MK. I mean you couldn't stir them with a stick. Fortunately, it was our last day in the parks and we were just taking it easy and doing a few more rides using fast passes. We stayed for the late Spectromagic and had a great viewing spot in frontierland. We were able to pick it out just 20 minutes before the parade. It was my birthday and I had my MK birthday button on. Ariel spotted it from her float and wished me a happy birthday and blew me a kiss. My 2 daughters got a big kick out of it.

Done Easter time 13 times going back to 1980's.It has always been crowded for two weeks surrounding Easter. Neither week is better than the other. All I can tell you is this: Palm Sunday (yesterday) and Monday (today) are actually not yet full Easter crowd; in other words, though you are seeing reports about how hugely crowded it is, it is actually going to get worse; the full Easter crowd starts tomorrow and goes to next Thursday; next Friday will just be like today.

We were at MK, MGM and Marketplace/West Side last Friday and the crowds were larger than 2 weeks ago. Between Spring Break and Easter, I figure that a lot of people are traveling now.

Friends of mine there last week also said it was wall to wall people...and I reported almost 3 weeks ago that every single hotel before Easter and after Easter was booked...that would also be an indication of how packed it is..

Apparently its a Spring Mass Exodus to WDW!!! Just be glad to be part of the "group" -- albeit a very big, crowded group! Hope everyone has fun this upcoming week... I'll be catching the tail-end as we don't go until 4/5... wonder if the crowds will have dissipated a bit or still be at full-throttle by then.

Easter and spring break..this is one of the busiest times of the year..no doubt.

Oh my gosh you guys are scaring me! We are leaving 4/1; same time as last year the only difference being last year that was the week before Easter so I thought it wouldn't be as bad this time. It was crowded but do-able last year and I don't handle crowds well at all. There were long waits for rides but getting around in the parks was fine and that is what I have a problem with. But based on some of these posts, it sounds as though crowd levels are much worse this year. And yes, I know, it's insane for a person with serious crowd-phobia to visit WDW during Spring Break but we love Disney and with kids in school it's one of the only times we can go. :sad2:

That's what I was thinking, everything I've read, and heard has indicated sell out crowds, from commercials, to the 50th Anniversary Celebration, I wouldnt expect anything less, thru at least the end of 2005!!

Folks, it will be crowded! No getting around it. Plan some "down time" at your Resort during the day, especially for the youngsters.

Wishing all of you a safe journey to Orlando. We'll be waiting for you.

-----------------------------------------

I'll be arriving in Orlando about 5 pm on Saturday, April 2nd and will be staying till the 5th.. I was hoping to hop over to MK the evening of the 2nd but now I'm wondering if I'll even be able to get in! :confused3

Is it still going to be super crowded the days I'll be there? I'm not too interested in rides - and I'm going solo (at least till Monday night when my sis arrives) - so I should be able to manuever around okay - right??
