Just wondering if anyone has any info on whether or not prices will increase in Sept. as rumored on a thread I was reading last week? I can't recall where I was reading this, which is why I started this thread today!

I am going to buy our tix at AAA, but don't want to go spend the money today when we don't need them until Dec 7th! However if there is going to be a price increase on park tix, then I definitely want to buy them before that happens.

By the way for anyone interested the cheapest price I've found, for AZ residents anyway, is at the actual AAA offices. The online price is not a savings! ($154/adult and $127/child for 3 day hopper)

Hope everyone is having a great day and God help those in South Padre Island, TX!!!

Park hopper prices should not be changing before the end of the year. They are usually set for the year. Annual Pass prices tend to go up in the Fall, so that may have been what the other post was refering to.

*nod nod* Prices shouldn't raise until the start of next year. Meaning that you can buy your tickets now and as long as you go before January, you'll be fine. :)

:cheer2: Yeah! You know it really didn't make sense to me when I was reading about a possible price increase, because the tix stipulate that they are good through the end of the year??? So it wouldn't be fair to have people paying different prices in the same year period for entrance to the parks!
Thanks... I really didn't want to plunk down all that cash right this minute... I'd rather have the money in "my" account until december!

Don't be surprised or shocked if prices go up.

Disney is about making money and they know you want to visit so...

Not true. All the ticket prices as well as AP prices went up last year on September 20th.

From what DangerMouse, I believe, has said, Disney's fiscal year goes through August, which is why DLR and WDW's prices increase around that time or a bit after.

The last couple of years the ticket prices have gone up in September, so if they're going to raise them again, that's when they'll likely go up. But if you were to buy now, then you would get the tickets at the lower cost.

Sorry I was under the impression that is when the 2008 prices came out, but the 2007 ticket prices I thought remained the same till the end of the year.

Here is a quote from last September. I was obviously mistaken.

Disneyland's annual ticket price increase came early this year, with across-the-board increases announced on Friday, September 21. Prices for multi-day hopper passes were already scheduled to go up in January, but those increases have now taken effect as well.

Almost right. .. their fiscal year end is the last day of September. :)

So are the prices going to increase in September or at the end of 2008?

I'm getting confused :confused3

Does anyone know how far in advance you can purchase APs? We are going in November. Would September be too early to buy them to save a few bucks?

I'm pretty sure you can purchase them now. And I definitely would purchase them before September so that you don't have to deal with the price increase. They will honor the price you bought them at, you won't have to pay any extra when you activate them.

Good to know !! Does anyone know what date at the end of September ? Do I have until the last week ? Because I've read that you need to use your AP within a month of buying it and I was planning on getting it late September, and I don't really want to pay the changed price for the next year ;)

Oh !! ... and I have another question. My cousin has an AP with blackout dates, will the fee go up too to pay to go in on blackout days? I know it costs like $30 to get in for one day. Will that change too ?

Really, no one knows except Disney (and they probably don't even know yet).

But I can tell you that the price of a block out ticket went up to $40 last September.

Thanks CalvaryMike-
I read the same thing in the mousesavers newsletter that I received this morning. They say that WDW tix are definitely going up on the 3rd!

But does that necessarily mean that tix will also go up for DLR???

Anyone???

Working in the Disney Stores and selling park tickets on a regular basis, this is what I have experienced. Park tickets were set for the year, a calendar year that is. They generally go up by $10 or so. Having them set at a rate for a calendar year is why the tickets sold at the Disney Stores have a date on the back on when they must be used by, because that is generally when the prices increase. Last year, however, they were set to go up at their regular scheduled time (January), but instead increased them at the end of September. The Disney Stores then had to pull their signs and tickets down, and put the new ones up. I myself have not heard when the price change will be this year, as of nowm the tickets in my store still have the date of early January on them, but that doesnt mean they will change their minds and do it earlier.

HTH anybody. I know it is confusing:confused3 , but I would buy them early, just to be safe.
