We are currently booked at animal Kingdom this coming Thursday and have made park reservations for everyone in our party with this reservation. We decided today that we are going to book instead at the dolphin And made a reservation but am unable to link it to my Disney experience because it was last minute and sometimes it takes awhile for MDE to recognize it. If I cancel my reservation at animal Kingdom before I link the dolphin will it cancel the park reservation?

I thought park reservations were tied to the tickets not the hotel. But given Disney's IT prowess, who knows what will happen.

However...
Make sure your new reservation DOES link.
Why do you even WANT to cancel your first reservation before the new one posts?
Why tempt fate?

We got a better price at dolphin and it's for this coming Thursday. That is why we wanted to switch hotels. And we have to cancel ak before the day of check in.

You should be fine. The park resvtns will be tied to the already purchased tickets.

Park Reservations are NOT tied to any specific ticket. While you MUST have a valid ticket in order for the system to allow you to make a Park Reservation, once made, it remains attached to your account until you cancel it. Changing tickets won't cancel it, nor will changing resorts. It's kinda like an ADR in that regard.

I suppose, Disney could have a batch application they might run occasionally to claw back Park Reservations that are no longer valid, but that's a lot of work for no particular benefit to Disney. In any case, the system currently does not care if the underlying criteria for making a Park Reservation changes or is canceled.

I get what you’re saying. It’s very complicated to explain lol. disprincess should be fine tho, right?

It’s not like a CM can cancel the park reservations with the AKL rsvtn because the ticket is separate. It’s going to stay in the system.

I would be more concerned if tickets were in the package being cancelled.
