Yes, I think they will!

This will be my PTR for our trip to the World this October, and I will explain the title here in a bit.

But first let me introduce the cast:

Me the bug:
birds004.jpg

I am a lover of all things Disney. I was in the CP the summer of 03 and have only really been back twice :sad2: . I say really because DH and I met one of my old roomates at POFQ for lunch one day but we didn't go to the parks. Anywho, I get side track very easily so bear with me. The last time I was really at Disney was for my birthday in 2006 and that was only for 1.5 days so does that really count? We were planning on waiting for a few years to go because lets face it, it's not a cheap vacation. As much as I loved my job at Disney I love my current job even more. I am a meteorologist. I love science and I love love love weather (shhhh, I have weather tatoos, and DH has ones that match. On to him....

This,

is my wonderful husband we will call him W, he would get a kick out ouf that because he was in the Movie 'W.' oh no, again with the sidetrackness. He is a part time weather nerd, he also works for the government in the mean time. He's wonderful and is really my prince charming. Currently he is in MD at some training class and boy do I miss him. He's never been to Disney, well not really. We had lunch but that was it before we went to US Halloween Horror Nights. He's not quite as excited as I am, but thats ok.

Potential Cast Members:

My parents:

My mom is an accountant, photographer, gardener and permaculturist. She has what I call hobby ADD, she can't pick a hobby and stick to it. She has never been to WDW. Even when I was a CM she wasn't able to come out because of her job :sad1: . My mom and DH get along wonderfully so this should be a fun trip.

My step-Dad is a bit of a hippy. Loves to garden and is a G-E-N-I-O-U-S. Seriously, if he's read it, seen it, heard it, he will remember it forever. It's crazy. Sometimes it gets on my nerves but most of the time he is supper cool.

Extras:
I will post pictures of my Furballs because I love then and you will probably hear about them several times along the way.

Foxy (left) and Opie (right)
DSC00737.jpg

These two are my babies. I got Foxy a few weeks after I got home from the CP and she is just the sweetest most relaxed dog. Opie I adopted when he was about 6 months old. He's a little bundle of energy and acts like a child, walks on his hind legs and will 'hold' your and, and loves to be held.

And last but not least.......
Frankie

He came with DH. I wasn't so sure we were going to get along, but we do. He's the sweetest kitty ever, we are snuggle buds when I work nights and sleep durring the day. I've recently found out that he loves boxes. He will hop in and just sit for hours chattering  ?

I must go shower and change for a Dr. appointment now. I will be back later to add more.

2008 was a rough year. It was a huge roller coaster ride.

In Feb DH finally got his job transfer down to where I was and life was peachy. He was DF at the time and we were planning a wedding for late summer. Yay,I was on :cloud9: . Then we get to the roller coaster part.

In April I got sick leading to a day of procedures at the hospital wich resulted in me finding out my gallbladder doesn't work. Oh yay. They decide to see if I can control the affects of that with some meds instead of surgery which I am all about so things weren't too bad there.

In May we got an unexpected surprise. We found out we were going to be having a baby! Oh I was even more on :cloud9:. Unfortunately when we thought about it, the conception date was 1 week before my big hospital day. A good 4 hrs spent under an x-ray type machine. NOT GOOD. The Dr said everything should be find. But it wasn't. A week after our first Dr visit we had a misscariage. We were devistated. But we tried to look on the bright side of things and we still had our wedding to finnish planning for a month andd a half later.

Around the begining of August DH got a promotion and we found out DH would have to go to DC for some training that the head honchos at the head office in DC scheduled him for. No getting out of, so the wedding was canceled :sad1: . He was gone off and on for the next few months. That was fun :sad2: .

FINALLY, in Oct we were able to arange a date that my Mom could come up and the Pastor at our church married us one Thursday evening. It was wonderful, I wore my dress and he war his suit, and it was just the pastor and his wife, my Mom, the youth pastor and the childrens pastor and it was wonderful. The best part? I was finally married to my Prince Charming.

Since then DH has been away off and on for training (promotions aren't always good). He's gone right now, but will be back Thursday night while I'm at work, I will get to see him Friday though.

So, On to the Disney Part....

I get back to work last Tuesday and among the 5 million emails I have from being off 1 day I see one about a Disney Military discount. WOAH, back the gravy train up a second. Disney, Military, FREE!!!! This offer is too good to pass up. I imediately send DH a text and he said ok we can look into. Then after a few more texts he said we could definately go any time after August  , so I start planning. it was a slow night at work and I found this wonderful website. I was looking at dates and thinking I wanted to go the first week of Sept, as soon as possible :yay:. I logged on to the acutal disney website as soon as I got home becuase it is blocked at work :confused3, and I saw they've got the whole "what will you celebrate" thing going on. Hmmm, what can we celebrate. DUH! If we wait until the first week in Oct we can celebrate our first anniversary. So, that is the plan.

There are only 2 things that will change the plans drastically:
1. The military decides they have other plans
2. If I get prego this month or next we will have to change plans, no way I'm doning Disney at 7 or 8 months prego. This one I would be totally way more extatic about than going to disney, but we will see.

Now, on to the potential cast members:

I told my Mom about the great discount we are getting and she asked if we would mind them tagging along. DH and I talked about it and decided it would be wonderful if they came . The only condition is that our Anniversary is ours. All the other days we can all hang out, but not our anniversary. They are pretty sure they want to go. We will reserve 2 rooms at the same time on Friday when DH gets home (he wants to be involved in the planning) and will cancel one if we need to. When JetBlue releases thier tickets for Oct the prices will more than likely be the deciding factor. That and they need to remodel their kitchen.

The fuz balls, they will be staying at home with a house sitter.

So last night I was chatting with DH about all the different options for food and stuff while we are at Disney. I was trying to explain to him the DDP and sent him the link to the Dis dining page so he could look at the different menus. We were talking about where to eat for our anniversary and he suggests V&A. I told him out much it was and that was definatley out. His next comment threw me through a loop. He said well if no V&A's then definatley a Character dinner. I really wanted to go to one while we were there, but didn't really think he'd be up for it, especially not for our anniversary. I love this man.

So whats your favorite character meal. We are up for any characters but we want good food too.

He will be home later today :woohoo:, but I will be at work when his plane gets in at 7pm, then when I get off work at 6am he will already be at work :( so I won't get to see him until after noon.

Up next.....We're booking our rooms.

Hi! I just found your report and am enjoying it. Sorry you had a rough 2008 - I hope 2009 is much better for you. Sounds like you are off to a great start.

I love the picture of your dogs - are they Samoyeds? I have a Samoyed (Jenny) who just turned 14 last week! They are beautiful dogs. I also have a cat who looks just like yours. (You can see pics on the first page of my TR linked in my sig)

As for character meals - we really always enjoy Garden Grill. It is nice because it is not a buffet (like alot of the other character meals) and we have found the character interaction to be really great there.

I look forward to reading more!

The are actually American Eskimos. Pretty much a miniature version of a Samoyed.

Your's are beautiful. And the kitty is adorable. I keep asking DH if we can get a kitty but4 animals in our little house would not be a wise idea.

So DH finally got home Thursday night :cheer2: and Friday we were able to look at hotels and everything.

He was still a little leary about the tickets and everything, kept saying it was too good to be true and that the guy misquoted me the hotel price on the phone, but after a few hours of looking we called and booked, and the guy I talked to last week DID misquote me room prices.

After reading countless reviews of Pop Century and the All Star resorts we decided to stick with my original first pic
1723PopCentury001.jpg

We will be staying at Pop for 6 wonderful nights in October. For cheaper than my the original quote I got. $409 after taxes for the week :cool1:. Then I let DH have my laptop and he started looking at pictures AKL and Poly asking why can't we stay there? Then he looked at the price :scratchin , mmmmm not so much, at least not this trip.

So anyway, now I have 8months, 1 week and 6 days to try to not drive DH :crazy2: .

Am I correct that I cannot book anything for while we are there until 90days out. I know for sure about ADR's, but what about La Nuba tickets and tours?

I am still convinced that something will happen and this trip will be a no go! Call me pessimistic, but that’s just the way the past year has been. I about had a heart attack on Saturday morning when DH calls me at 9am and his exact words were…”don’t cancel Disney yet, BUT.” BUT,:scared1: , seriously? No I love you, no I miss you, just don’t cancel Disney yet when I know you are playing soldier for the weekend. Anywho, I digress….”don’t cancel Disney yet, BUT I might be in A-stan, I have to go love ya” I now remember this conversation very clearly, but I don’t think it registered at the time. I was asleep, very asleep apparently. I had just gotten off a 12hr shift at 6am. Later that afternoon after yelling at the dogs 5 million times to quit barking at the cat he’s not going to eat mommy in her sleep, I got up to get ready for work. For whatever reason it hits me while I’m washing my hair, he said CANCEL and DISNEY in the same sentence. I brushed it off as a very bad dream and finished getting ready. As I’m getting ready to walk out the door I turn my phone on vibrate and think to check, and I really did have a phone call from him at 9:something am. On my way out to the car I start to get upset. All the way to work I kept thinking, don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry.

There is only 1 good reason why our trip should be canceled and that is if I get pregnant this month or next.

A deployment is a semi-good reason to cancel the trip, but I would still be upset with DH. Up until now deployments have been strictly voluntary for him. Now he’s telling me 2 things. 1 is that we would have to wait another 6 months before trying for a baby, and 2 we would have to cancel Disney. Deployments are nothing new for me. BTDT, with my ex, and someday I will get deployed too. In a military family it’s a fact of life.

I think this trip is also giving me something to look forward to after having a m/c in July and not being able to get pg again.

So now here comes the fun part. DH convinced his sq not to send him in May, but rather in November. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? A little of both. For now we won’t have to cancel Disney, BUT if I don’t get pregnant this month or next we will be trying not to get pregnant until at least August because we don’t want him to miss the birth of our first child.

For now I will continue to look forward to our trip. Thinking of all the fun things I will get to show DH and my parents, dreaming of the food in the WS, and hoping that I won’t be able to ride my favorite rides because I will be pg. I can’t wait until I can make ADR’s, Get La Nuba tickets, and maybe a spa treatment. Oh the planning fun to be had once it gets closer.

What do you guys do in the mean time?

So, it's been a while since I've updated, but I've been so busy IRL that I haven't had much time. We've found out that this summer and fall is going to be a busy one.

DH will be leaving in less than a month to go to his annual 2 week drill in VA (which will be more like 3 weeks because he volunteered to stay longer), well not really in VA. He heads up there the begining of July and they will fly as a unit to WI to play patriot games. He's so excited for that.

The middle of August he then has to go to DC to work at headquarters for a month. Durring that time he will be off on weekends and able to drive down to VA for his monthly drill. Since we are saving money on that I am going to fly up to DC for 2 weeks to explore. It will basically be a free trip since he will get daily meal allowences that he won't be able to use up by himself and we will have a kitchen in teh hotel room he will be in.

The next trip DH will be making is up in the air as of right now, but that is how the military is. He might be going to Honduras for a week and a half just after he gets back from DC. He's so excited about this and i'm jealous, I wish I could go.

Then it's real vacation time.

Wed 30 Sept we will be driving from here to Austin to my parents house :car: where we will stay the night. Thursday is my Step-dad's birthday so we will more than likely go out to lunch to celebrate that on the way to the airport. Our flight isn't until later so we will have plenty of time for me to go crazy waiting. Then it's off to Orlando we go via a Jetblue nonstop flight. Once we get there we will be taking the ME to POP. :mickeyjum I think the plan will be to check in then head over to the MK to get our tickets and see if my step-dad can get the birthday gift card since we have tickets. After that I think the plan is to stop at the contemporary to grab some CS dinner and head back to the room to get settled in.

So far here is our tentative plan:
Friday (Anniversary ): MK rope drop, CP for lunch, 6p Cirque show, dinner/dessert at B&C
Sat: DHS/EPCOT ?
Sun:Park-Hopefully AK ?, Dinner at Boma
Mon: DHS/EPCOT ?
Tues:Water Park/MNSSHP, back to hotel to pack and get ready to come home
Wed: Wander resort, maybe go see 1 or 2 other resorts, ME around 1, fly back to Austin
Thurs: Drive home.

I'm going crazy waiting. Some friends just got back the other day and had a blast. The one thing that I keep trying to remind myself of is that it is hot and crowded down there right now.

Well, It's been a busy July so far, but that is good because it's making the time fly before we get to go on vacation.

DH and I decided at the end of last month that we were going to paint our hideous bathroom. It was an easy project except that DH decided to start on July 1st while I was still at work. I had the 2nd-6th off so that would have been no big deal except we were going down to Biloxi, MS on the 3rd and that is our only bathroom so it had to be done for our house sitter before we left. We did get it done for the most part and it looks fantastic. But, in the midst of all that commotion I totally forgot about the 3rd being the day to make ADR's. I didn't remember until we were halfway to Jackson, MS. I'm frantically tring to find my resort reservation number on DH's BB, while I'm on hold with dining on my BB so I can make my 90+10 ADR's. After listening to "It's a Small World" for what seemed like forever I got through to a very wonderful CM that took care of everything. She looked up our resort reservation number quickly and we got both reservations we wanted. DH and I were both quite amuzed that she was trying to convince us to try a more romantic dinner for our anniversary dinner, she kept double and tripple and quadruple asking if we knew that CP was a character meal. Yes, we know, Yes we want to have a character meal for our anniversary dinner. So I got that reservation and a dinner reservation for Boma on our second to last night.

Now I'm just waiting in limbo for DH to find out about some training he has to go to before I order Cirque tickets and MNSSHP tickets. It would be my luck that he would end up having to go to training if I order the tickets now. If he does have to go to class I am still going with my parents, missing DH the whole time of course and missing out on Cirque and possibly MNSSHP unless one of my friends down in Orlando wants to go with me because my parents are planning on going to beach that day.

Off I go to make all my neighbors mad by mowing the grass, but it's already 81 with 78% humidity making it feel like it's 86. YUCK! I hate the hot and humid south durring the summer. I will post some new pictures a little later since this thread is getting a little boring.
