Will my van still be there?

Booked a minivan through Budget at MCO with a pick up time of 9pm.:scared1:
This is for a Friday night, during the very busy March break.
I am worried they will not have one available...( even though we have one reserved. I have heard stories about over bookings.....
We are a party of 6 and really need a minivan.
What happens then?

Hopefully the third time is the charm... I've typed a response twice so far and each time it's disappeared.

Anyway, yes you'll get the car you reserved, but the question is will it be there when you arrive. After my past three experiences with Budget during Spring Break, I say not without a significant wait! We once had to wait over an hour to get our car and we weren't offered an upgrade (paid or free) just to get out of there! I no longer use Budget MCO over this as they STINK! Using Fastbreak doesn't help, as the line is just as long outside with people still having to wait for their cars as well. We always fly in the Friday night before our kids Spring Break so they don't miss any school, arriving also around 9ish. EVERY time, Budget is the only car rental with lines out the door and people hovering around waiting for their cars. This past time was the end. I always book again, figuring this time has to be better than the last, and every time it's worse. DH always heads directly to the line (as we had learned from the past that when they have NO CARS and you're fastbreak, you just end up standing in the garage with tired cranky kids, better to still be in the airport) to get the waiting started. It took me about 30 min to gather the luggage and get down and meet him, he then tells me he's hardly moved in those 30 min and still has approx 10 people in front of him. I also observe more people than the past 2 years waiting around in the usual "car waiting" area. After 15 more minutes of no progress, I tell DH I'm getting in the Avis line to see what their walk up rate would be. It ended up being twice as much, but since it was only a 24 hour rental for us to get to DCL, we took it to end the nightmare and get out of there! Moral of story, DON'T RENT WITH BUDGET MCO!!!!! My kids won't let us use Budget ANYWHERE now, they are scarred for life!

This just isn't true. If the car you reserved isn't available when you go to pick it up, you won't get it. It happens. It has happened to my husband and me a number of times. When that happens, you will be offered an alternative; usually an upgrade. That said, I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about something which might happen next March.

As I stated above, Budget doesn't offer upgrades when they have no cars available, at least the past three years they haven't to me. They've made me wait until the car type I had reserved was available before assigning me a car. And with all of the other people I've observed the past three years, they aren't offering upgrades at all, free or paid! Trust me, I would have gladly paid to get out of there in the past, and last year I did, just with another company!!

Budget didn't have our car in 2008. A very cheap economy rental. They said it would be up to 4 hours as there were also 13 people in front of me for that same cheapo rental. I drove out with a mini-van. I was worried about making it to a wedding rehearsal and asked if they would get me a cab in both directions and I would be happy to take what they had when I got back. They said if I was willing to drive "Whatever" I could take the mini-van for the week instead. 18 miles on that brand new mini van. 99 bucks well spent.
