Will my kids enjoy the Candlelight Processional?

Hi (again),

Yes, it is I, the compulsive planner here with yet another question.

Will my kids (DS9, DS5 and DD4) enjoy the Candlelight Processional? It looks very adultish. All opinions wanted!

Thanks :teeth:

P.S. Thinking about just listening to it from the Liberty Inn and if the kids get bored then oh well.

It is very beautiful. I seriously doubt that you will be able to see or hear much of it unless you are sitting in the audience.

It is spiritual and has a Christian content along with respect for other religions. We would never miss it. When the kids were little we went and sat in the back so that we could leave if we needed to do that.

Well knowing your children as well as I do from the information posted, I'd say sure, unless they were tired, or wanted to do something else.

My DS was almost 4 when we went and he was bored. He didn't act up but he just wanted to lay on the bench.

My wife and I attended the Christmas Processional this past December, and really enjoyed it. But it is more likely to be enjoyed by adults than children, especially if they are expecting more typical Disney fun during the program.

I do not recall any small children attending the Processional when we were there, but that may be because we were for the final performance of the evening.

If you do decide to take your children to the Processional, I would recommend that you attend the earliest performance scheduled on the day you plan to go. That way the children are less likely to be worn out by the time of the performance.

Enjoy.

If they can sit through church, they can sit through the CP. :sunny:

My 5 year old can't sit still in church- we're always out in the foyer. I am beginning to think it's not a good idea. I saw a clip of it on someone else's post and I don't think they would enjoy it. And I'm afraid my 5 year old would be too restless for him, me or anyone near us to enjoy. Thanks all for your input on it. Maybe another year!

My kids 16 & 7 really enjoyed it. My DD is the type of child who enjoys musicals and can sit still for long periods of time.

The 3 beasts that were sitting behind us however were another story. They were probably 6 - 10 yrs of age, there were 3 of them and Dad, to entertain them began the tickle game :furious: Obviously Dad couldn't sit still either. After about 20 minutes of their obnoxious behavior, I finally asked them to take the kids elsewhere, at first they gave us a dirty look, then another couple of folks requested they leave, they finally did.

It is choir music with narration, for kids there is really not much to see and I can see how the younger set would be bored. Only you know your child's limitations. I would look into one of the evening child care services and attend this event if at all possible, it is wonderful and was one of the highlights of our trip.

Thanks Mamacatnv- I forgot about childcare services. That is a great idea.

I decided not to take the kids. My 5 year old has trouble sitting still and being quiet. I'd rather not waste all that money for the Dinner package just to be aggravated. And, unlike the people who sat near you, I am concerned about the people around me. I know my child has issues and the CP doesn't seem to be the appropriate place to take him. And I thnk the others would be bored too.

I'm going to look into the clubs- I hear Neverland at Poly is great.
