pull over an existing DCL reservation so that I can convert some of my points to use on the reservation? Basically we are thinking about going ahead and adding on more DVC with the current promotion they extended and using some of those points to put towards an existing DCL for this NYE 2008 cruise. We want to know if we can use the points on that vacation BEFORE actually commiting to purchasing the points cause the last thing we need is our DCL bill ontop of a bill for 200+ points as well.

We figure if we are going to spend 7000+ just on the DCL stateroom without insurance, etc. that we may as well put that towards the purchase of additional DVC points.

This would be a question for Member Services.

I am assuming you didnt book the cash cruide through Member Services, but diectly through Disney/DCL? In that case, my personal guess is that no, they can't do that without cancelling and re-booking the reservation, but I would definitely call and ask, since an additional DVC purchase depends upon the answer.

Ok - just called member services and they did state that the vacation would be transferred. This sounds right since we did something "similar" before for our September 15th, 2007 cruise (but I know at that time the cruise was not full and even if they did a cancel/rebook behind scenes it wouldn't have effected us). This one just makes me nervous as I know the NYE 2008 is pretty much sold out.
