Will ME Grab Your Bags if You Don't Ride?

Strange question...

We are arriving at WDW and renting a car. Most likely, when we arrive, our room will not be ready. Will Magical Express (if you have the tags on your luggage) grab your bags even if you do not board?

Reason: We do not want to drag our bags around, and the car we are renting will probably not fit all our luggage (4 people for 10 days).
