Will luggage services drop bags at resort?

We arrive mid-morning at CSR and would like to go to a park if the room is not ready. If we drop our bags at luggage services, will they bring them to our room once assigned, or will we have to pick them up?

You have to be in the room when they deliver them. So when you get back from the park, you can go directly to your room, then call bell services on the room phone & they’ll bring them up. They usually ask for the number on the ticket you’re given when you drop them off. So just make sure whoever is calling has the ticket, just in case you don’t all go to the room at the same time. If it’s easier, you can pick them up if you prefer.

And please be generous in tipping the bell person who delivers your bags. It is generally agreed that $2-3 per bag is appropriate. If you choose to collect your bags it is nice to show your appreciation as well.

Weirdly when I've stayed at Value resorts (Pop and Sports), they put my luggage in my room so it was there when I returned. It's only when I've been at Deluxe resorts (I haven't had to store luggage when I've been at a Moderate) that I've had to call for it.

Maybe they figure people at Values are less likely to whine about their room and try to change it?

Was that with the old Magical Express? The baggage service with that would deliver to the room, but is no longer available. When you check the bags yourself at Bell Services/Luggage Services they require you to be in the room.

No - I never used that. I don't do checked bags.

I checked them myself and they were in my room.

We've had the opposite experience -- nearly 90 minutes for Luggage Services at a value. After an hour my husband finally went there himself and it still took another 20-30 before he got back.

Officially you need to be in your room and call down for your bags. But sometimes they do put them in your room for you.

I think it’s a practicality thing where value bell services run out of space

I have had the same experience lately as well with the values. The luggage is delivered to the room automatically…kinda like magic!

Glad it's not just me. I was starting to feel like I was crazy for experiencing what I know I experienced.

I'm not sure if this is still true, technically the value resorts offer luggage services not bell services. Bell services are on demand. Luggage services at value aren't always on demand. When its busy your bags will be picked up or dropped off on their next run. I've left bags in the room. Luggage picked them up and put then in storage after I left my room. I left a tip by the bags.

Great info on the difference between Bell Services & Luggage Services. I’ve only stayed at a value once so didn’t know about the hourly system. Thanks!

We had the same experience in December. We dropped off our luggage at Pop before our room was ready and when we got back, it was already waiting in our room. When we switched over to Yacht (took a Lyft with our luggage) and dropped off our luggage, we had to pick it up on the way to our room when we got back.

I've also had deluxe bell services drop off amazon deliveries to the room when I wasn't in it...but I think it was probably an A) the storage is low because it was a Saturday/lost of bags being held before flights out and bags being held while rooms were turned over and B) they were dropping off other things to the building I was in and the box was small?
