Will Key West remain a port in 2022?

I know that there has been some talk of Key West no longer allowing larger cruise ships to dock there. I notice that Key West is still on the early 2022 itineraries.... do you think that means anything, or are they just waiting for the decision to be made and then they will pull it off the itinerary if needed? Has anyone heard any recent talk about Key West and cruise ships? We are planning to book a 5 day Bahamian that docks at Key West, but if they pull that port, we might be swayed to consider the 5 day that goes to the Cayman Islands instead, as I don't really want two sea days on a 5 day cruise. Or do you think they would add another port if Key West is removed from the itinerary?

The question is on the ballot for Nov 3. Until we know the outcome of it, it's hard for anyone to predict what's going to happen.

If they do end up banning large ships, other ports can step up. Keep in mind that sentiment against cruise ships has changed since the early days of super-spreading.

My suggestion would be to wait till after you know the outcome of the ballot, or book the alternative if you need that certainty now.

Interesting. We booked a 5-night with stop in Key West. I'll be checking out the Florida election results for more than the obvious reason!
