We just agreed on BCV 300 points december use year with 200 current points at $80/point. What are the chances it passes ROFR? Keeping the fingers crossed.

Only Disney knows for sure.

One factors that Disney may consider look at is do they have a current wait list for this year use. I imagine as sales slow down, credit becomes harder to get that 80 to 85 will pass soon if not already.

We just had a smaller contract at BCV for Dec UY recently pass at $84/pt....best of luck to you....

I'm new here: What is ROFR? :confused3

Right Of First Refusal. It's Disney's way of keeping the resale value high on DVC. If they think a price is too low, they can buy it back at the same price and resell it at their prices.

There are several steps in buying resale. ROFR is one of them. The basic steps are:

1. Make an offer and offer accepted or negotiated.
2. The agreement then goes to Disney for their approval, or ROFR. DVC can, if they want, step in and buy the points for the amount negotiated. If they can buy low and sell high, they make money.
3. Assuming ROFR passes, purchaser deposits money with the tile company and the transaction goes to a title company which does the title search, etc. They also go to DVC for "estoppel" which verifies the points, makes sure no money is owed, etc.
4. Assuming everything goes ok, you then close
5. DVC member services then enters you into their computer and you can start booking.
6. Eventually you receive the title from the closing company.

If you are interested in resale, there's a few companies which specialize in DVC. The sponsor of these boards is one of these companies which has been used by many folks on the boards (including me). Give them a call and ask lots of questions. They also have some nice material they can email you which details the process a lot more.

I had a resale pass in the last month for 110 BCV at $82. I would think a big contract like 300 points would go through at 80.

Sending you good thoughts!!

Remember that size of the contract does not matter to Disney. They can break up the large contracts. I think you will not get ROFR'ed on this one.

Did you post this on the ROFR page? I was looking over there a few days ago and didn't see it.

A 100 point transaction just passed on 3/06/09 for $80.

Wow so a 200 point contract could feasibly pass in the $70's. Things have sure changed. I was offered a 200 pt contract for $75 a point and I turned it down. I was sure it wouldn't pass ROFR..

If you were selling, why would you care if it passed ROFR?
