Please prepare for a whinefest that is quite pathetic....sorry.

I haven't been on here much in the last few days b/c I've been tending to medical stuff with EVERYONE.
When it rains, it pours, they say.

My dh had his surgery on Monday morn for his sleep apnea. Unfortunately, on the same day, DD#2 (1yr)ended up with a fever of 102-103 + vomiting, DD#1 (3yrs) ended up with lots of loose bm's and is miserable. Both girls are also completely off their regular schedule so they're MONSTERS, too.

My dad was supposed to go for an EKG for his heart and apparently they had to stop it b/c they thought he was going to have a stroke.
My mom also was hospitalized for 2+ months earlier this year and is out of work forever and she's not doing so well right now, either.

Fortunately, my wonderful MIL took DH to her house until the girls recover but I'm getting sick now so I can't even go to visit him. It's hotter than hell and everyone isn't feeling well....

I won't even go into all the baskets of laundry that need to be put away plus the girls party that is next weekend that I have NOTHING but hotdogs +hamburgers for...

Ok, my whinefest is over. Thanks for patronizing me. ;)

I wanted to edit to add that DD#1 now has a fever of 102....it just keeps
getting better and better.

I will be standing at our intersection waiting for a truck to come along to run me over... :thumbsup2

Sounds like your plate is full. :grouphug:

Maybe you can take a little breather after next weekend. You know, a facial or a nice massage sure can do wonders for the soul! :teeth:

I'd hug you but I don't want to get too close  As the old song says, If not for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. Glad your MIL could at least take DH off your hands while you & the girls have your virus. I know you feel bad, but you'd feel even worse if you gave it to him right after surgery.

Ginger ale, crackers, Gatorade and a cool cloth for your head. Tomorrow is another day

Thanks for the support. I would love to just sleep after this. I woke up to, "mama!!! get up and get me out of my room NOW!!!" this morning.
We still have a gate in the door to DD#1's room (she's not potty trained and we just moved her room to the other side of the house).

She's never that demanding so I should've known she wasn't feeling well....

oh well....

I wanted to ask if anyone knew how accurate a mercury thermometer in the armpit was. B/C my patience are being tested this week, apparently my MIL only has a mercury thermometer and I can't bring a digital one up while our DD's and I are sick. Let's pretend that mercury thermometers aren't a huge No-no....

DH is supposed to be taking his temp to check for a fever and he can't put it under his tongue (it was moved forward during his surgery) so the armpit or the deep beyond are the only choices. I think we'd all choose the armpit...

Sorry this is so long winded...I'm so freaking tired and yet so silly.

Thanks for any help

ok, at this point I'm so delerious I'm almost willing to answer myself.

Isn't there a "have you ever killed a thread" question?

There should be a "have you ever started and killed a thread question."

:grouphug:
I don't know about the thermometer question but i'd hate to see you start and kill your own thread. I hope everyone is feeling better in the morning. My DD was sick with the same thing as your girls last week. Thankfully it only lasted about 24 hours. I know having a barely potty trained 3 year old is no fun.

I'm sorry that things are so miserable for you all!

As to the thermometer, I think it should be accurate, but make sure he leaves it in the armpit long enough. I'd say 5 minutes. They take a lot longer than digital from what I remember (and digital under the arm takes longer than under the tongue and should be left there a minute or two after it beeps, or so I've been told).

:grouphug: I am sorry you are having a rough spell. It's hard when you are dealing with so much at the same time.

Hope everyone is feeling better soon! pixiedust:

I to have killed several of my own threads

Just wondering how everyone was feeling today. Hopefully things are getting better :goodvibes

thanks everyone. sorry about all the babbling last night. I was borderline delerious and just hoping that everything would bet back to normal.
Unfortunately, DD#1 came into our (my while DH is at his mom's) room and puked all over DH's side around 1 am.
She's running a fever of 104 today. If she's like DD#2, she'll be ok after tomorrow afternoon.

Dh isn't feeling well and I can't bring him to his dr app't in the morn b/c of this virus. HOpefully he'll be able to come home on Sat.

Anyway, thanks again and i hope noone else ends up with this virus...

I hope you have an uneventful night and that tomorrow all of you are feeling better.
