I could get a flight for the 4 of us from BDL to MCO in April for $1,360.00. this is roundtrip nonstop. They aren't the exact dates we were hoping for but it is all I am seeing??? Do I wait for SW or book this for the convenience of seat assignment and inflight TV's? We used Jetblue last April for the first time and it was wonderful. The dates we were hoping for were April 13-22nd, but the lower prices I am finding are on April 11th late afternoon flight, to April 20th am flight. We were looking at the early flight (11:11am) either way so it would only be the difference of the later flight leaving BDL. Plus the kids would be dismissed from school on that Wed. at 1:30pm to head straight to the airport, then miss Thurs/Fri of school:confused3 I hate playing this waiting game....

meant to say we were looking at the early RETURN flight home either way ;) the only difference in flight time would be the one leaving BDL to MCO were hoping for the first am flight out, but on the Wed April 11th the cheap flight is the 3:47pm one:confused3 Any help??

Is that when New England schools have off? If so, I would expect high prices. Airfares have really gone up, especially with airlines cutting back on the number of flights.

our week off is April 16-20th. With Easter being April 8th....it seemed a little further away from the peak, hmmmm I expected it to be high, just not almost $3,000.00 high:sad2: the 1,360.00 is starting to look like a bargain:rotfl: We flew last year April 14-22nd and it was $1,680.00 and we flew home on good friday. I was just trying to get a feel if this is only going to go UP or should I wait for SW?

I don't have specific info on your airport, but I've been checking SW religously for the past 3 months watching for our flight during our fall break. The prices have changed constantly - (for our family of 4) going as high as $2800 and as low as $720 (the 720 was during their huge anniversary sale). I have noticed that the closer we get to our October trip there is still a lot of fluctuationn but the prices are hovering around 1000 - 1200 pretty consistently. I don't know about spring break time, but I know stressing about airfare early on turned out to be a crazy waist of time and energy for us. Good luck

wgeo thanks for your response! I hope you got in on that $720! WOW!!! I just like to be booked and not look again, but I am not sure what to do! I went to do a mock ressie to see what there was for seat availability and the outbound flight had lots of seats, the return not so much. again thank-you!

Flights can fill so fast. If the least cost is the 3:00 pm time frame back and you want that one, best to book. If you want to go with an earlier time is it within a $20 difference and better traveling time for you then lock in.

There are so many cuts to airlines anymore, less flights, they fill so fast. I waited on prices for a airline rate to have bags and check in a Disney, great rate at $980. While I waited the day and thought things out, there were not enough seats. We are taking the Auto train back, but have to drive down.

Next year I am booking in with a local charter, love the direct flight, two hrs and no connections and lost hrs. We did that trip a few times and LOVE it.

Good luck,

I guess I just need to decide and do it! Our ideal days April13-22nd comes to $3,436.00 :scared1::sad1:, but leaving 2 days earlier and coming home 2 days earlier comes to $1,36.00. Just means the kids getting dismissed early on Wed April11th, missing on the Thurs the 12th, and Friday the 13th (which is already an early release day) Hmmmm. thanks for the feedback, I know there is no rhyme or reason to when flights go down or UP. no one ever wants to pay too much OR end up missing out on a full flight. Good luck to all planning and again thanks, Jenny

The airlines know full well when the schools are out. So, you are going to see fairly high fares from the NE area down to Florida for that time period. You may possibly find lower fares but...they may also go up as well.
