We went during NYE twice, 2015 and 2016? Got there right before NYE and stayed several days after. NYE and NY day busy but after that most people get their kids back to school (elementary). Colleges are usually off an additional week but not enough to make it crazy crowded.

The way the holidays fall this year, most schools will have that week off. So the first few days after New Years will not be like they were the past few years. Can't be compared.

I'll be there for Dopey that week and just gonna go with the flow and hope for the best!

This. We visited one year when New Years Day fell on a Sunday, and our school district had the following week off. Found out the hard way that a zillion other schools did too, from the jam-packed crowd levels we experienced that week. Used to be years ago that schools would resume by the 2nd or 3rd of January at the latest.....not any more.
