on a 2001 Magic Eastern cruise we had the Navigators Verandah and enjoyed it - there was a lot of wind when out on the main decks, so it was nice to go there and be shielded a bit but still outside, looking at the sea.
I was disappointed that the seats are "fixed" (they don't move, so you have minimal play in how you sit on the verandah)
The other thing - our view of the outside from the bed is limited.
Overall though - I would do the Navigator Verandah again.
on 2005 Magic Western Cruise, I went down a grade and got a Deluxe oceanview with porthole window - we enjoyed it just as much, and saved lots more. We could lay in bed and watch out the large porthole window, and we found we didn't miss going outside from our stateroom much - we could sit in the sheltered areas on Deck 9 or Deck 4 areas just as well.
I don't think I would like an inside room - I do want to see if it is day or night outside at least when in my stateroom - but have equally enjoyed the two options I have done so far
