Can anyone help me with this situation? I recently had surgery on my ankle, and I am on a walking cast. I'll be flying down to MCO in a couple of days by myself. My problem is that it will late by the time I land, and walking will be very difficult by that point. I will have been teaching all day before the flight, and my leg will be throbbing by then. Is it possible to catch one of those little golf cart-type vehicles at the gate and hitch a ride to the Mears shuttle?

Thanks for any help!:goodvibes

I don't think they have those golf cart type vehicles there and you also need to take a tram from the gate to the main airport. You can, however, arrange for a wheelchair to take you from the gate to luggage pickup and then to the shuttle. You may have to tip the person pushing the wheelchair and providing assistance.

When we flew for a cruise after my DH's hip replacement surgery, our TA arranged for a wheelchair at the airport for him. We especially needed it at CDG, as we had only 40 minutes (if the plane was on time) to make a connection in a different terminal - plus go through customs and immigration. Although he only needed it for that portion of the trip, when you book a wheelchair through the airline, it is for all portions of the trip. When we checked in at ORD, they brought a wheelchair right there and took him through to the gate.
I would definitely suggest contacting your airline for assistance.
