Will I need the Fantasic Package in late August?

I am going to WDW from Aug. 21-28 and was wondering based upon what I have read about lower crowds...will I need to get a Fantasmic Package or should we be ok just going there...

I think the hours will be shorter (not sure though they are not posted) and only one showing of Fantasmic....your thoughts??? Thanks!

I'm going that same week!

I am doing the package...I'm a Fantasmic package fan. I've done it even for our October and December trips because I have little ones and a DH who doesn't like lines or long waits. I booked it aleady for August 23. I could only get 4:20p which is pretty early for a 8:30p show but have heard that about one month before your trip they open up the later times. I'll be calling at around 30 days in hopes of a 6:30p dinner!

I like that I can just show up about 1/2 hour before and sit.

This is my first August trip but figured the package would be even more useful in the Summer months than it was in the Fall as it will be HOT and probably more crowded!

Only down side I see is that it could rain. It rains more in August than other months I've done the package.

Maybe someone else whose gone the end of August can chime in??

We usually go the last week in August...

The line for Fantasmic still starts about 2 hours before the show. We did the package last year, and there was a huge storm and the show was cancelled. We ate at the Hollywood and Vine buffet, and while the food was good, we probably wouldn't have done it if not for the Fantasmic seating.

That said...I can't really answer your question. If you don't mind waiting in line for 2 hours, then you won't need the package. If you would rather not wait and want to eat a meal at MGM, get the package. Either way, have fun! I wish we were going at the end of August, I think June is going to be crazy.

Beatty family, we have a Fantasmic Dinner Package for the same night as you and I could only get 4:20 too!
We did the package last Aug. and it worked out well. No waiting in line!

So are you going to call as it gets closer and try for a later time too?

Yes- I think I will try for a later seating. 4:20 is awfully early to eat dinner!

I too have the pkg scheduled for the end of August. My Hollywood and Vine time is either 4:10 or 4:20 too. I am going to keep calling because they told me I may be able to get a different time later.
